Morning rehearsals suck. Especially when you're late just like you.

You quickly jumped out of bed as you realized the clock was at a sharp 8:00. Rehearsal had yet to start at 8:15, let alone the room was across campus from your dorm which would take about a 7 minute walk.

"Fuck. Great way to show your impressions Y/n, especially as a freshman!" You dressed quickly into some tight faded skinny jeans while you're favorite shirt to match. Looking somewhat please with yourself and your messy hair, you ran. Ran like the little forest you are and bursted through those giant double doors after about 10 minutes.

To your surprise, the room had been completely empty, beside the few lights and machinery to work with the stage.

But not a person in sight.

"What the hell. Hello?" You called.

No answer. But a loud thump erupted from above, causing you to jump and slightly yelp.

Soft shuffling could be heard from the stairs above. Typically where they keep the mic's and stereo's to help amplify the sound and give off quality production, but you tried to back up and look at the top just too see no one there.

"Huh. I guess my brain is still on dream mode, haha. I should probably look around.." You scanned halls and glanced into the dressing rooms, but again no soul was found. Did they cancel and not tell you?

'No, they wouldn't do that. '

But what if rehearsal was moved somewhere else and now you're totally late? 40 minutes now to be exact.

Yep, you're fired.

Sighing you walk back toward the large doors and hop over a few empty boxes. The stage was designed with white oak, leaving the sensation of your older home surrounding you. It made you internally cringe to think of the past and how harsh the reality of this world could be. It doesn't seem to care about you but you'd hope it would but now..it doesn't feel like anything matters.

You walked down the few stage stairs and onto the concrete floor, turning toward the large doors once again. As you made a sharp turn, you crashed into a toned chest, their arms being placed onto your shoulders, ones that held you firmly from falling back. The scent was familiar, entirely relaxing your stiffened body to the point you found yourself nuzzling the strangers chest softly.

"Uh, Y/n? You alright there?" Your eyes snapped open and you slowly stared up at the man. Those concerned yet amused hazel orbs, ones that you'd look into for the rest of time if you could. Your face fired and surely as red as a strawberry. Shaking your head you backed away, head falling low and shoes most interesting.

"Yeah I'm fine, sorry. Actually," You looked up at him and then around the room. "Where the heck is everyone?" He chuckled, leaning onto the door frame with closed eyes, a side smirk still playing on his lips.

"Rehearsal was moved to tomorrow morning because half the staff stayed in bed this morning." His eyes snapped to your now embarrassed figure. He smiled and moved from his leaned position, placing a hand onto your shoulder.

"Don't worry though, I covered for ya. Just don't make this a habit, alright?" You stuttered for a response but he was already half way down the hall, walking leaned and so confident at the same time.

"I don't need your help you brat! I could've been handled it all on my own!" He tuned with a hard but hurt expression, pining your heart into a corner with guilt. You sighed and closed your eyes, making your way toward him, placing a gentle hand onto his arm.

"But, thank you." After a long moment of silence, you opened your eyes and was surprised to see his signature smile, rivaling the sun in its shine, almost putting it to shame. Your heart gave a loud thump, its bass sounding straight to your ears and pounding within your chest. You managed a small smile, hardy glancing up at his eyes as you were both timid and shy, but also thankful.

After a hair ruffle, he leaves your side. A new emptiness is felt through your fingertips, all the way to your toes, numbering your body to stay in place. You knew this feeling... all too familiar.

This same expression.

The sensation of warmth.

The aching for their attention.

This is without a doubt..

Love.
