Dear non chicken keepers,

I am so sorry to disappoint,  but just because I have chickens does not mean I live on  a farm(even if I do). It doesn't mean just because I have chickens, I do not eat chicken or raise meat chickens. That doesn't mean  all of my birds are white or brown(maybe they are). Just because  I am a chicken owner does not make me a huge farmer who also owns cows, goats, pigs, and horses too. Yes, I get eggs, and no, they are not just white.Yes I love my chickens, and no, they are not dumb. Yes,  my chickrens do love to eat eggs and chicken(actually it one of their favorites!). Just because I have chickens doesn't mean I own more than 50 (actually my flock is pretty small). there are lots of  chicken breeds, colors, and sizes to choose from, they don't all look alike. Just because I own chickens doesn't mean I have a rooster. There is a lot more to chicken keeping than feeding, butchering, and collecting eggs. Chickens can also be your closest  companion when you feel alone, your shoulder to cry on when you feel sad,  your little clowns(not the creepy kind, the funny ones) when you need a laugh.  Chickens mean the world to us, and when we lose them, it's not just an animal,  it's a friend. Don't judge us because of what you think we are like, because we are so much more than just people who have chickens. Chickens are like our babies(at least in my case) and are amazing creatures, not just brainless living things created for the sole purpose of food. Sorry to take away everything you know about us and throw it away, I hope this letter gives you a bettetr purpective of our lives.

Sincerely,

                Chickens  and chicken keepers
