When I had awaken, I was staring at the ceiling of my packs hospital, basically. I groaned and clenched my side as the pain started coming back.
"Aren't there pain pills or something?" I gritted out in pain to whoever was around.
"Yeah, let me get the nurse." Akino's voice. I didn't want her to leave, but she was out the door before I could say anything. Within a few moments, she was back with the medicine wolf.
I struggled to lift my head up to look at her. "Lemme guess... Two broken, one fractured?" I was barely able to get out.
"If you're talking about your ribs, that's correct. I was told that you wanted medicine?"
I nodded. "Please."
The nurse had Akino help me take the medicine. Unfortunately medicine took a while to take effect. Especially for me. I laid my head back and closed my eyes. I hated feeling so helpless. I wanted back into my bed.
I zoned out. I didn't fall asleep, but in that moment, I didn't want to be part of the world. I was loved by others, but I didn't love myself. That was my problem. But, I didn't know how to love myself. I was so lost in everything. I couldn't even beat my asshole of a father. What kind of alpha was I...
I got lost in my thoughts before I heard someone yelling my name. A familiar female voice.
"Bodolf? Bodolf!?"
I slowly opened my eyes. The lights above me nearly blinding me. I squinted my eyes, and tried to lift my arm up, but the pain in my side stopped me from lifting it high enough to block out the light. "What?" My voice was groggy.
"You weren't responding and your heart rate started going up really fast. I started getting worried about you." It was Akino.
"Oh.. yeah.. sorry. Would you mind getting me some water or something?" I asked. My throat felt dry.
She nodded and went just outside the room, got some water, and came back. I used my other arm to take a drink of water. Slowly letting it slide down my throat.
"Thanks. I needed that." I sighed softly, handing Akino the cup of water and she set it on the table between the two of us.
We sat in silence for a while before I finally broke the silence.
"I'm going to ask you for something... Just realize that you're lucky that I'm actually asking for help. Alright?"
She nodded her head. I looked at my fingers and I fiddled with them.
"I... want you to help me train and become stronger.. I want to teach my father a lesson or two.. But, as we've seen, I'm not strong enough for that yet. I can't do this on my own, and as my mate, I want you to help me with this..." I slowly looked over at her. "So.. will you please help me with this... babe.."
I could tell that she was speechless for a moment. I thought for a moment that her eyes were starting to tear up. Though, I wouldn't blame her if they had. This was the most I had ever opened up to anyone.
Finally, she nodded her head. "Yes, I'll help you, if that's what you want."
I gave a little smile. A real one. And I felt it. I hadn't smiled like this in a long time.
I looked into her eyes, and she looked into mine. I swear, I could have gotten lost in those beautiful eyes of hers.
"My darling, come here."
She nodded and walked over to me. I rested a hand on the side of her face, pulling hers closer to mine until our lips had touched. It was a sweet, gentle kiss. One of true passion and love. I enjoyed every moment of it.
It seemed like we were like that for a life time, but my side began to hurt, so I had to break away from the kiss. I smiled at her. I honestly felt so happy. I hadn't felt like this in ages.
"I love you, Akino."
"I love you too, Bodolf."
