Expecting the Unexpected

Mikasa

I was in the most beautiful place on earth. The view was just breath taking and I didn't think I was going to be to see such glamorous place. My eyes narrowed at the rays of the sun.

"Mikasa." I heard a familiar but faint voice in the distance behind me. I smiled to myself and turned around. Eren.

"Eren." I said shockingly, even though I kind of expected him to come and see me since I asked him to in the first place.

"Mikasa." I grabbed Eren's shoulders and smiled with my toothy grin.

"I'm so glad you made it! I didn't think you would actually come." I said looking down and blushing.

"Oi! Mikasa!" I snapped my neck up and looked into his eyes.

"Oi! Wake up!" He said grabbing my shoulders and shaking me. I was confused.

"Eren! I am awake!" I smiled, only with my lips.

"Mikasa!" This really started to terrify me. What's gotten into him? Suddenly, the beautiful sun was covered up by dark, threatening clouds. What was happening? Why was everything falling apart?

"Mikasa! You damn, baka!" I opened my eyes and sat up panting. I looked around me and noticed that Eren wasn't around.

"W-where-"

"Shh. You fell asleep on me; I wanted you wake up because it starting to get dark and cold and...."

"And?" I said softly.

"...and we have a serious situation with the titans."

"What do you mean?" I got up slowly and then fell back down on one knee and grabbed my waist.

"Ow." My wounds were still not fully healed.

"If you get up like that again, your gashes will slit right open." 'Why was he being so nice to me all of a sudden? Well, at least he sounded like he was.' I rolled my eyes and made my way to the edge of the tree branch slowly and carefully and looked to see what he was referring to. To my surprise, there were three different titans staring up at me. I clenched my jaw in fear.

"We don't have any food. We're...we're going to die if we sit here!" This was the first time ever, since I was eight years old, I had lost my cool. Even when I was alone, I never lashed in fear as I was now. I felt my expression dull and my eyes turn cold. I'm an emotionless monster. I don't normally show a bit of happiness, fear, nor do I show any expression when I get hurt.

"Mikasa. Quiet down." I shivered at the cold wind that lightly touched the surface of my skin. I grabbed my arms and rubbed them.

"Here." I turned around and Levi's soft cloak land on my head. I grabbed it and threw it back at him without showing any gratitude. I pulled my knees to my chest and sat there with a blank stare.

"Take the damn coat, you're gonna freeze." I looked at him and smiled.

"You know....you're not as much of an ass hole as I thought." I grabbed his coat and put it around my shoulders.

"You know, you're not as annoying as I opposed you would be, Mikasa." I turned around to look at him. I stared into his gaze for a long period time until he leant foreword. And when he did, my pulse raced. A small lock of hair tumbled in front of my face, resting just in front of my cheek, but with one swift slide of his thumb, it was brushed out of the way. Looking into his eyes I saw deep pools of blue that displayed his soul. His lips touched my cheek. Time stopped. My heart came to a halt. My breath caught in my throat. Our fingers locked together similar to puzzle pieces. As the soft skin of his mouth left the side of my face, the exact spot where they had come into contact burned and tingled. A hot blazing fire pulsed through me. A small grin crept onto my face and my cheeks painted themselves rose red. He pulled away silently, but our eyes locked, having a private conversation of their own. I wasn't sure on what to do, or how to react. I leaned in and kissed him on the lips. The pain, fear and sadness left me without further thought. I broke away from our touch and stood up.

"I'm sorry." I never wanted the feeling to stop but it also felt very wrong. After all, I still have feelings for Eren.  But at this point, I didn't know anymore.
