Ch 6

Natsu POV

       Lucy's been back a whole week now and I still can't believe it. We can't go on missions, but she has been staying with me since her apartment was sold. All of her stuff was moved to my place. She had been staying in the guild but she got lonely since she apparently doesn't sleep. Though she will pass out at random. Wendy says that it's because her body signals aren't fully connecting. That she doesn't feel pain, tired, or hungry, but that last one is under debate. Lucy herself has said that she has felt hungry. Though she hasn't again since then.

      I walk out of the guild with her in tow she has been in a daze since this morning. We keep her covered with one of Laxus's long jackets. No one questions us about her. They probably assume she was just a new strange member. I smile as she and Happy chat quietly about what kind of fish he would like for dinner. I'm so happy myself that I could cry. My Lucy is back!

Erza POV

        "How is the investigation going?" I ask as I take a seat at the bar. Mira pours me a drink along with one for Laxus.

          "It's going no where. The smell of the blood and decay drowned everything else out. I can get a clear scent." Laxus says and he knocks back his glass of whiskey.

           "This investigation is going no where fast. If new evidence doesn't come up soon. I'm afraid that the murdering son of a bitch will get away." Mira snarls out and Master nods in agreement. It was just the four of us here. We closed down the guild and locked it earlier for this S-Class meeting.

         "Now that that is out of the way. Master why did you call this meeting?" I ask and he raises his head from his meditative position.

         "It's Lucy. She's in danger again." He says and Mira pours a drink for herself.

        "What's going on?" Laxus asks.

       "The council caused her death. I'm sure that the dark mage that was killed was being controlled by them." He says and I furrow my brows.

        "He had been acting strange for months. The guild Master even said it wasn't a surprise." I say and he shakes his head.

        "I talked with her. She didn't want to disclose the information to anyone but me. He had only started acting strange after a rune knight in full high ranking armour talked to him." He says and the missing pieces of the puzzle are falling into place.

     "Why do that though?" Mira asks and Laxus twirls his glass a bit.

      "So no one would think to trace it all back to them." He says and the Master hums in agreement.

         "Lucy said that they have the Heart of the Heartfilia. We must be on guard for anything they'll throw at us. They absolutely cannot get their hands on Lucy." He says leaving us confused.

        "Heart of the Heartfilia?" I ask while looking to Mira and Laxus who shrug.

       "It's the most powerful magical item in the world. You could conquer entire nations or the whole world with it. It has all of the lost magics of our time, all Slayer magics, god magics, and any and every magic imaginable. It's the living heart of the first Heartfilia." He says leaving us all even more confused. Seeing this he explained further. "Why do you think the Heartfilia name is so well-known and why Lucy hides it in certain situations. The Heartfilia were the first people with magic inside with out the use of items. The first was born from a King Dragon and a Zodiac Celestial Spirit. The combination was so powerful that the child had all magic at her disposal. She ruled Earthland and Edolas." He says and we gained some clarity.
