I heard his unimaginable thoughts. I tried stopping him. He didn't know it was impossible to kill him without the help of your soul mate. Something had triggered him to suddenly have this urge. In all my vampire years I've never seen this much anger, determination boiled into someone at once. This was a force no man alone should have.
Jerome slowly approached my father. At this point I had only 3 options. I could help Jerome and kill the man who raised me, but then that would mean the vampire race wouldn't have a ruler. They would do whatever it takes to get revenge and kill both Jerome and I.
My second option would be stopping Jerome and prevent anyone else from dying, but then my dad wouldn't give up on killing him. And if I did stop Jerome, there could be a possibility of me getting in the way. If I died, he would as well. That's way too risky for both of us.
Then my last choice is to simply stand where I am and watch everything happen. But I can't let my biggums die. No, I won't let my biggums die. I'll find a way to keep all of us safe. I will find a way to have the happy family my mother always wished for me. For you and me, Jerome. I promise you love, we will get through this.

The tension grew with every small step Jerome took. The King seemed a bit shocked by Jeromes sudden actions. He was surprised at how reckless he was acting. How stupid Jerome could possibly be to even think of the idea of him defeating a vampire ruler. There was no doubt in the Kings mind of Mitch coming in and helping Jerome after he realizes Jerome would die without him. He knew his son well and so he knew what Mitch was capable of. He knew things not even Mitch himself knew. And it terrified him. A father was afraid of his child. Although this was true, he'd never admit it. He saw no point in showing any signs of fear. Therefore at this moment, standing nearly face to face with Jerome, he stood confidently, ignoring Mitch's presence.
What really took him by surprise, what took everyone by surprise was the fact that it wasn't Jerome who took the first punch, but Mitch. The King stumbled back a bit. His face in shock. That small distraction was enough time for Jerome to attack. He threw a hard kick right into the Kings stomach. You'd expect it to not make much of an impact since it was a human going against a vampire. Except that's where everyone was wrong. The force sent him flying backwards. He landed on his back and winced at the sudden contact with the stone ground. His vampire servants tried stopping Jerome from getting any closer to them but Jerome launched them away with no problem, Mitch standing right behind him. Soon enough Jerome had reached him.
Jerome no longer had control of his actions yet he knew exactly was what going on. He let all emotions take over without thinking about the consequences. And soon he will find out what price he'd need to pay.
