Elizabeth
I had to say I was happier than I have been in a long time. He understood and didn't treat me different because of it. I pulled out my cell phone and called Amber(the housekeeper) and told her to please prepare a nice dinner for all of us. I thanked her and hung up, when I was walking back to the car I heard Abby talking to Josh bombarding him with questions about if there was something she was missing. Andrew was trying to stop it but I knew Abby would keep on and on till I fessed up. I just wasn't prepared to do that just yet. So I walked up to my boyfriend and friends with my head held high. "Guys no more questions okay, it's in my past and that's where it needs to stay!" I could tell Abby didn't like the idea but she kept quite. We all got in the car and started chatting away, I think everyone was excited about living in an actual home again and not hotels. "So the town were going to is pretty and has a lot of awesome shopping places, and the gym is really god as well as the food." The boys jumped when they heard the word gym. I looked over at Abby who was in the passenger seat and we both started laughing. When we finally caught our breath she said "typical" witch made me laugh even harder to where my eyes were watering,I wiped the tears from my face and returned my eyes to the road. I remembered the laws here and that they were different so I asked Abby to look in the glove department " there should be some booklets in there can you grab em?" she nodded when she seen them and handed them out " okay so there's one complication here, the laws are a little different because we're heading into a different state. The drinking age in 18, no peace disturbing, and you have to wear this necklace when you go outside" they all looked at me like I was crazy when I held up my wrist and handed each of them there's. They didn't understand that this is not a normal place it's corrupt and me being who I am can get them killed. "I need you to promise me that you will never leave the house without those on?" Josh who was reading some of it looked up and asked "why?"
"Because this is not like where we come from, these will help with that!"
"What's going on here?"
"It's just the law here, oh I almost forgot if someone has a necklace or tattoo of a crescent moon with a dot inside it don't go near them, there the local gang"
"What kinda town are you taking us to?" Abby was starting to freak a little I could see it. "It's not bad we just have some weird rules I mean the worst I have ever had to arrest is a guy from outta town who tried to break a restraining order.... he was drunk." They all seemed to calm a little at that, I felt bad for lying to them , but I'm not only the local police chief around here... " what's when town's name?" Josh asked breaking my train of thought "Riverland"
"Wow weird name"
"It's a native indian village"
"How do you know about this place?"
"It's where I used to live!"
"WHAT!?"
"Well my parents bought the house when I was 3 and never used it so when I was Five I moved while they moved to vegas."
"Who took care of you?"
"Amber, Victor, Max, Snow at least these were the permanent people""Are we gonna meet them?"
"Ya Ambers the housekeeper she is 23, Victor and his wife Snow are both 55 they are the the people who keep up with bills and money, and Max is Amber's fiance and he is the cook I think he's 26"
"Dang these people sound awesome!"
"They are"
I was thinking so deeply about what I considered my outside family that I nearly didn't realize we arrived I looked down at the clock and seen it was 6:47pm. I pulled into the driveway and let them see the house
