the awkward stillness hung in the air as tom and tord sat in the same room. the pissed expressions on the both of their faces was clear. matt was taking forever and edd was urging him to hurry, leaving tom and tord alone.

it was super awkward, nothing but the sound of the ticking clock in the background. that sort of comforting one that made you feel at home.

tord then had enough of the silence, pulling out the small ipod he had received earlier and a bundle of wires with buds on the ends. he at least wanted to listen to something before tom made up some snobby comment that would lead to an argument.

with his pale slender fingers, tord carefully pulled apart the wires. soon releasing the wires from their cruel knots. he felt a bit revealed he didn't break down from stress, he hated tangled earbuds.

tom looked over with that blank look tord always hated. the one where his voidless eyes would just stare, stare until tord yelled at him.

"what gay thing are you doing now?" tom scowled, looking at the commie with disgust and hate burning in his black eyes.

tord stuck the middle finger at him, not wanting to hear his bullshit. he had enough of that in his life already. no need to squeeze some more angst into the depression and queasiness.

"i asked what you're doing," tom repeated more harshly this time.

"listening to anything but you and your stupid slurred british accent," tord rolled his grey eyes in annoyance.

"fuck you."

"mhm, you too tom."

ignoring him, he unlocked the small device, scrolling through the music playlist. then he found a music title he found amusing. my kind of woman covered by poppy. tord thought why not and did it anyways.

the song started out beautifully, placing tord in his own world. his private get away. for a few minutes he even forgot tom was sitting there next to him.

'oh baby, oh man,

you're making me crazy, you're making me mad,

that's all right with me, it's really no fuss-'

the earbuds were ripped from his ears by tom.

"hey! what the crap?!" tord yelled in disbelief.

tom put the earbuds in his own ears. he listened to the nostalgic music that gave him a slight peace. one without tord ruining everything.

the jehova's witness looked tord straight in the eyes to see his grey eyes twinkling with hate. tom smiled a bit at that but tried his best to keep his lips in a thin line.

"you have a good taste in music, commie," tom's tone of voice softened.

tord was taken back by the sudden kindness radiating off of tom. it made him feel weird and uncomfortable on so many levels. come to think of it, he's never really seen tom smile a genuine smile.

"thank you?"

he sat staring at the blue clothed male in front of him, watching him tap his finger to the beat against the cushion of the sofa. tord's frown turned into a soft smile, tom looked so peaceful and happy.

for some reason that put him in a better mood. not the usual somber, empty mood. but a light flicker of light. weird. also the fact that tom put him in a better mood was just odd, out of thought.

the colors flickered for him, he was now able to see red and blue. it was weird. why blue? out of all colors, it chose tom's color. at least it was better than the black and white dots that blurred the rest of colors from his sight.

tom could feel the grey eyes burning onto him, the warmth they gave. there wasn't the usual raging hatred that could bring the house down to shambles.

both of them were confused.

"alright everyone!" edd burst into the room with that cheery smile that was always on his face. the small bounce in his step. "to the car!"

tord gave edd a puzzled look.

"where's matt?" he asked.

"oh um..." edd paused suspiciously for a few moments. "he's uh sick. he caught a fever and is in bed sleeping right now."

tord raised an eyebrow, not buying it, but going along with it anyways. what edd wants in this house, he gets. tord smacked his lips.

"kay, let's get going," edd smiled once again.

tom shoved himself off the couch with a lazy posture. he kept the ipod, making tord frown slightly. tord followed after.

once stepping outside, tord wished he put on another layer of clothing. it. was. freezing. no human could live in this cold without being in a bad mood.

"looks like rain," tord breathed.

edd nodded in agreement, the sky was a dark grey. tord could already smell the rain, ready for it to patter down on the sidewalk any minute now. he loved the sounds and smells of rain. it was marvelous.

tord was now in a short happy mood with the thought running through his head of sky water. what an odd but wonderful thought. the smallest things can make people in a joyous mood that would be hard to break.

of course jehova noticed and smiled a bit mentally, he loved how little things made the commie so happy. wait, what was he saying? he hated tord's guts. no way could he have the slightest bit of sympathy made out to him.

tom shoved his hands into his pockets grumply. his stomach had more of a light lift to it with the thought of tord on his mind. he felt so... confused.

normally he would look at tord and feel hate burning in the bottom of his stomach, but now didn't feel it. where was that hate? that feeling that pushed him through the days.

the jehova felt his cheeks heat up as his feeling became more and more complex by the second. on a regular basis he'd know what he was feeling, but now felt so mixed and messy. like a puzzle fresh out of it's square box.

what was happening?

"shotgun!" tom heard tord shout from behind him.

tom growled, he always got shotgun.

tord rushed ahead and yanked the passenger seat door open. tom was behind him ready to pounce on him and tackle him to the floor.

the commie scrambled inside the car but tom already had a foot and an arm inside. tord struggled to shove tom's leg away just ending up falling on the floor.

tord let out a surprised gasp as he was pushed onto the sidewalk, hitting his arm against the rough concrete. pain went through his right arm.

"you bastard!" tord screeched from his place on the floor.

"snooze ya lose commie," tom chuckled with his hands still shoved in his hoodie pockets. his legs were crossed in a way of comfort, getting tord steamed up and frustrated. these were the small things about tom that made him get pissed.

tord didn't get up, just lied on the floor holding his hurt arm. he didn't feel like moving from his place. someone would have to drag him into the car.

"tom stop being so rude!" mama edd scolded tom with the fury in his brown eyes.

the red male snorted.

"it's fine edd. he's just being an asswhore like always. tom always just makes things just handy dandy!"

tom glared his usual glare that made tord want to crawl into a hole and kill himself. he hated him too much. edd sighed and crossed his arms.

"lets just get going,"edd's brown orbs rolled.

tord scoffed, green and blue really were a terrible mix.
