Black and white keys-
simply tasteful.
A melody starting in
jovial, eloquent phrases
turning into a passionate song
written in the key of blooming lovers.
Kisses sung in major chords
conversations between C and G.
A graceful, caring song
full of feeling
as dainty fingers lilt along,
growing weary of lonely work.
Suddenly, our tune grows dark.
The glossy keys are full of
pain sung in tears and minor chords
with wonder and longing tossed in the mix.
Fingers stretch to octaves of loneliness,
aching with the heart of the melody.
Rhythm slows and though the end is anticipated,
still it comes as a shock- slow but abrupt.
A last, melancholy chord fades forever.
