"Nurse? I need someone here! The patient's awake!" Aly said through the intercom.

She sat again beside Bang and she held her hand. "How are you? May masakit ba? Nauuhaw ka? Anong kailangan mo hon?" Aly's a bit panicky.

Bang slowly reached for Aly's face and touched it. She kept on staring at her girlfriend. It's like Bang's telling Aly to calm down and that she's okay. Aly's crying but smiling at the same time.

Two doctors and a nurse came in. Aly stood up to give space. They started assessing the patient.

Aly reached for her phone and called someone while the doctors are busy with Bang.

"Hello, Mama Bha. You need to come here," Aly said calmly.

"Bakit? May nangyari ba?" asked the worried Mama Bha.

"Relax, Ma. Everything's okay. I just miss you," said Aly.

"Pinakaba mo ko. Anyway, I'm on the way na talaga. I'll see you in a while. Bye, Anak."

After the phone call, Aly waited for a while and then the doctors approached her.

"It's surprising how calm she is after emerging from coma. Usually kasi distraught sila paggumigising. Disoriented. But I guess, Ms. Pineda's one tough cookie," informed Dr. Mendoza, Den's supervisor. Napangiti naman si Aly.

"By the way, this is Dr. RJ Landicho. Siya yung papalit kay Dr. Lazaro. RJ this is Alyssa Valdez, girlfriend ni Ms. Pineda."

Nawala naman ang ngiti ni Aly when she heard Den's name.

"Hi Ms. Valdez. I'm a big fan," said Dr. Landicho while offering his hand. Tinanggap naman ito ni Aly.

"Just some reminder. It would be better if we refrain from asking the patient questions about what happened. Instead, talk to her and explain the circumstance she's in."

"Also, she would undergo some therapy. Her body hibernated for almost 6 months. Her motor skills got affected. Communication skills look okay. As much as possible, let's not subject the patient to emotional and physical stress. She will need all the love and support from her family and friends to fully recover," Dr. Landicho said.

"Got it, Doc. Thank you," sagot ni Aly.

"Alright. Dr. Landicho and I will go ahead. Just ask the nurses for assistance if you need something or if you have questions. They are just at the station. They'll alert us kung kailangan," said Dr. Mendoza.

"Sige po. Salamat po ulit." The doctors left.

Aly went back to her seat beside Bang. Hinawakan niya ulit ang kamay nito.

"Hi, Hon," greeted Aly.

"Hi," Bang said softly. She also smiled. Puro hangin lang ang lumabas sa bibig niya. She's still weak.

"I know you must be confused right now. Let me tell you what happened. Remember the night when you wore the white dress I bought you and we were supposed to have dinner? While we're on our way to the venue, we had an accident," kwento ni Aly.

Aly continued, "Huwag kang magpanic hon ha. Pero you were out for more than five months. You were in a state of coma because of the impact of the collision.

Nanlaki naman yung mata ni Bang. She remembers the accident pero hindi niya alam na ganun katagal siyang nawala. "Well, that explains it," Bang said through an airy voice.

Nagtaka naman si Aly, "Explains what, hon?"

"Explains why my body aches," Bang said softly.

"Yes hon. Don't worry you'll regain your strength okay?" Aly assured Bang.
