“5,4,3, 2, 1!” chanted the crowd over the eruption of the fireworks ending the game.

“And thats the game leading the Jackson Timberwolves to another win, progressing their season to 7-0!” Roaring the loudspeaker.

On the way to the locker room all I could think about is what a game I had.  Nine big blocks, a fumble recovery, and a touchdown!

“Alright,” said Coach Sample. “we barely pushed through Dexter this week. Johnson, you get the game ball. If it wasn’t for your fumble recovery changing the momentum of the game, we wouldn’t be celebrating now. Thats it, get dressed and get gone!” bolted his southern accent.

As I was dressing I looked up and noticed the starting halfback staring me down. “What?” I demanded

“Nothing”

“Must be somthing”

“Its the fact that you do one thing and everybody fawns over you! I average 370 yards a game and I hardly get a good job!” he screamed!

“I’m a lineman that picked up your fumble and outran eleven men for twenty yards and scored a touchdown; This is my senior year!” I explained.

“Whatever” he whined as he grabbed his equipment and left.

As i finished dressing, I grabbed my bag and started out the door when my eye was caught on Jared.  For the last year I’ve known how I am and that I really like Jared . They say one in every hundred men are gay, and I’m one of them, however only five people know I am.

“heee….. heyyyy Jared……” I mumbled.

“Hey,” he replied “Good game.”

“Oh really think so?” I excitedly stated. “ you did great also! your the one of the best defensive players we have!”

“Thanks, bye”

“Bye”

I let an over wide smile as he walked out when Dakota my best guy friend nudged my shoulder.

“Dont freak him out” He joked.

“Hes already aware of it, so it doesn’t matter that much” I sadly replied. “Oh and good job! 25 tackles isn’t too bad, however there is room for improvement.”

As we left the locker room there were dozens of fans congratulating us apon of our accomplishments earlier that night. As we neared the parking lot we said our last goodbyes as I got in my fire engine red Ford Raptor and we parted our ways.
