Any Friday during football season in Jackson is like the fourth of July at any other Place. The day is started off normal, however hardly anybody is even focused on school work. Third hour we had an assembly in the gym.
As I walked in Brennan our team captain was already addressing the crowd. “Tonight we will be traveling to Renton to destroy the Redbirds!” he screamed into the PA system.
“Wheewwwwww!” Chanted the crowd rapidly.
“In the entire history of Jackson football we have never been defeated by the Redbirds,” He continued. “ In 53 years Jackson hasn’t had an undefeated season, but as of the next 2 weeks that’s going to change once we beat Hilton!!”
After those few words the entire student body went absolutely crazy! The gym shook due to the rapid chanting of the 2,500 Jackson high schoolers.
The rest of the day seemed to have flown by. Last hour I have the honor of getting to sit by Nicole. She may be my best friend, but her lack of football knowledge is painful. Nicole is one of the cheerleaders and it is clear to see she is the best at what she does.
“I hope you do really good tonight!” I whispered below the teacher’s audibility
“Well I know you will!” she gladly replied
The entire seven hours I was in school today that was the first class I recieved homework in. ‘goodness I need to get rid of this class’ I thought.
