"What the fuck is up with you?!" Patty gripped Awsten's shoulder and forced him to stop storming down the hallway, making the younger boy face him.
Awsten's eyes were bleary with tears, and he quickly wiped them away and pushed his guard back up. "He's out there, Patty, he's FUCKING out there!" He tore away from Patty's hold and sprinted towards the double doors, letting his backpack fall limply to the floor below.
He'd be damned if he didn't get to Geoff in time. He needed to get out there, and whether Patty would follow or not wasn't much of Awsten's concern at the moment.
Awsten finally reached the double doors, the spring sun blinding his eyes for a short time. He located the black car, but much to Awsten's luck, it was already peeling out of the parking lot at such a high speed that running after it wouldn't do much good. He did, however, notice a limp and wet-looking note flutter in the wind, floating to the ground slowly.
"Awsten stop!" Patty panted, sighing exasperatedly as he watched Awsten take off once more. He sprinted after the boy, finally reaching him as he was hunkered down on the pavement. "Geoff's not—" Patty's words stopped coming as his eyes spotted the piece of paper, scrawled with a simple note and a random lettering on the bottom:
I'm okay Awsten. Don't try and save me
You'll end up being hurt. I did this and I'll pay the consequences
I'll get out of here, and I'll be back in your arms in no time. I love you Awsie
ssls dtusAwsten clutched the crumpled note against his chest, a blanket of practically psychopathic silence covering the pair. "H–He was—" The sound of gunfire broke out suddenly, causing Patty to cover Awsten's cowering and frozen body.
"Get in the car. Now Awsten!" Patty ducked as another bullet came flying. He pulled the younger boy up and began sprinting to find his small sedan, keeping his head ducked as he heard bullets whiz passed. Once the two reached the car, they threw themselves in and Patty scrambled to ignite the engine and peel out of the parking lot. "Is anyone following us?"
Awsten peered over the seat, glancing at the road and the school where students were running outside and screaming. "I–I don't think so." His breaths were uneven and borderline hyperventilation. His fingers clutched the note tightly and refused to peel apart. "W–What do we do now?"
Patty ran a hand through his dampened hair, taking a deep breath and resting his head against the headrest. "Meet with Leo and figure out what exactly they're planning to do with Geoff. We have to find Zech before—" Patty's expression faltered, and he laid a hand along Awsten's knee, giving it a soft squeeze. "—you know..."

Dark. Everything in his vision was darkness. He didn't like the darkness. He blinked his eyes open, but he was only greeted with the darkness once more. His hands and ankles were tied with rope, leaving him bound to an uncomfortable wooden chair.
The room he was in was hot and humid, and he could feel his sweat gluing his clothes to his skin. "Let me out of here!" His speech was slurred and uneven, due to the shot they had given to him in the car. "I swear to God, when I get out of here I'm gonna bash you're fucking face in!"
He pulled on the ropes, but it was no use. He relaxed slightly, letting the ropes loosen for a little before tugging on one wrist, but it stayed tied.
The anxiety in his chest began building, as the images from the past began flashing through his mind. "T–Turn the lights on! N–No don't!" His eyes squeezed shut as he thrashed around, trying to free himself from his restraints.
"Tsk tsk—Trying to run away so soon Geoff?" Geoff felt a looming presence over his shoulder, walking in an intimidating circle. "We've been nothing but nice to you, and this is how you repay us?"
Geoff gasped for normal breaths, beginning to feel himself hyperventilate. "L–Lights! Turn them o–on! Please!"
The shadow snapped, causing the fluorescent lights above to hum to life. The room was dim and dark, with brown wooden walls and white concrete floors. A large staircase was pressed into the corner, with the door covered by a large lock.
Geoff felt his chest beginning to unwind, and his anxiety filtered away from his body. "W–Where am I?"
A heavy–handed slap cut across his cheek, and he gazed up to look at Zech's face. His jaw was locked tightly while his eyes were narrowed angrily. "Don't you know better than to mess with me, Geoff? Didn't Awsten let you know what I'm capable of?" Zech bent over, becoming eye level with Geoff and smirking. "I'm your worst nightmare, Wigington." Zech gripped a fistful of Geoff's hair, turning his head sideways and chuckling as Geoff yelped in pain. "Get ready for a hurricane, gloom boy. It's going to tear down everyone and everything in your life." Zech leaned in close, his lips brushing along the shell of Geoff's ear. "And this time, someone won't be getting out of this alive."
