Chapter Two - Sinister Days

CHAPTER TWO: Sinister Days

Its had been a entire week since Garret has jokingly enlisted Kieran to the school's library . Today is now Monday. Kieran gets up from bed and does the usual routine; teeth, dress, fix hair then goes down to the living room and sits down. Great it's 6 o'clock Kieran says in a murmur. He swishes out his phone to check if Garret is online which is a long shot since he does not go online much if not at all. To his surprise he is online. Kieran decided on seeing if Garret will release him of his enslavement to the schools library so he can laze about more. He is instantly replied to with " No :3, but come to school early and we can grab a drink together"

Kidding me? He wants me to be a early riser too and walk to school at this time, next he will try and indoctrinate me to the prefect hood; I doubt he would since it requires solid dedication to look down on lower class men. Still there is nothing else to do so might as well go.

Kieran walked down the forest path and arrived at the school to see Garret leaning on the elaborate fencing for the school courtyard. "Hi, up early are we Kieran Pirsch?" Garret says, the running joke of us calling out our full names hasn't died thinks Kieran. "Sup Garret Verloren, what made you rise from the grave this early?".

"I always get up this early dum dum" says Garret, knocking on Kierans head with his slightly bony knuckles. " lets go to the cafe near here and sit for awhile". Kieran gives a shrug and they take off.

The small cafe is quite cozy with a small fireplace at the end of the lounge and a decent array of tables to eat from at the front of the room, Garret  shouts across the slight empty room " Ill have the usual" and is replied with a hand waving behind the counter to say that he has been heard. Garret then takes a seat close to the window and invites Kieran to sit with him in a posh fashion.

Kieran takes a seat and is asked by a disembodied voice saying " Do you want something too?" which make Kieran look around and notices it must be himself who is being asked. "Ill have just a basic breakfast please" followed by silence and Garret enjoying the scenery and talking about how exam results will be when they arrive. Then suddenly a large thump and a buffet of freshly cooked meat on the table, taking up for than have of the table; Kieran has a little bowl of cereal and toast.

The shopkeeper says " I have no idea how he can eat all this in a morning". Kieran looks up to the shop keep but is interrupted before he can say anything by the loud tearing of meat and Garrets gasps for breath while he devours his feast, Garret makes out one word through his savage and vigorous munching which is " it's on me"  but the "me" part sounds more across the lines of him taking a large bite out of a mutton chop. The shopkeeper just laughs and Kierans says " How often does he come here and order like that?". " Twice a day" says the burly man; the shopkeeper.

Kieran looks at Garret, He never knew he had such a ravenous appetite, especially for meat jeez look at him chow that down. "Fastest time I've even seen him eat" says the shopkeeper. Kieran decides that If hes here and ordered he better eat it before the cereal goes soggy and the toast goes cold. Through some sort of magic Garret finishes his gourmand dish before Kierans, Garret goes  to the counter and pulls out how much he owns; almost 64 pounds including Kierans meal too.

Kieran uses a slice of toast to wipe the bowl of any left over milk and cereal then gets up and puts the bowl and plates at the counter. "You know he doesn't mind going over to the desk to pick it all up you know"  says Garret in a somewhat half burp. "Yeah, but I try not make it hard for people if I can do it myself"  bringing a almost tear to Garrets eye, its not clear if its indigestion or if he's proud of Kieran. They both check the time to see it's about 8 o'clock now, Garret takes a single swipe at his face to remove any left overs or sauce. "Garret,  I have no idea how you can do this every day and not look like a buffalo"  Garret just puts on a smile which show his canines rather vehemently " I burn it quick". Kieran opens the door and they both leave and go to school.
