Chapter Seven - Finding Secrets

" So how are things?" says Ceririan groggily waking from his bed as Kieran walks in, " Well, Garret's brought a girl home, someone from a different universe of all things" he says relaxed. Ceririan get up from the bed and sits upright awake now, " How interesting, did she get her by herself or do you think she was sent here?", Kieran shrugs " maybe a bit of both". Ceriran puts on his clothes, if this girl can travel universes maybe she can sense the portal, should put a ward around it would make it safer he thinks., his thought on whats type of ward to use is cut by Kieran " She wears this, I wanted to give it back to her but she forgot to take it, it's a very interesting amulet" he  says holding it in his hand, rubbing the glass part that is slight broke.

" You should give it back to her neither of us have a use for something, so meek"  Cerirans says, " Besides all that, I think we should make sure the portal is well protected" he says to Kieran who is inspecting the amulet meticulously, he looks at Ceririan " it's probably better if you do that, I'm still working on how powerful they should, can't have every spell as powerful as the other" he says smiling, " fine" Ceririan says, disappearing into smoke..

He reappears down in the secret room close to the portal, he starts what he came to do and makes a a protective barrier around the room to stop somethings from getting in or out. he does it by making several other wards. This should work unless something physical comes into the room. he stands there for a moment, he heard something, footsteps. He goes into a dark part of the room and waits, A girl comes into the room talking to some shadowy being, This might be the girl Kieran was talking about, seems she has something with her. the girl checks the room even the dark spots, Ceririan avoids her, silently watching in the dark. She focuses  on the portal. He hears her names as the shadowy beings speaks to her, curious now he moves closer.

Aiko goes to take a step forward but is dragged back by Jariko grabbing her arm "what are you doing Aiko?" he asked, with a hint of worry in his voice. She turns to him and smiles "i was going to go and check out that portal, see why its here" she replies pointing with her free arm. "Don't we don't know if its safe, please Aiko don't"

"i'll be fine trust me. I have you to protect me if anything goes wrong". She pulls her arm away from him and walks towards the portal touching the archway and tracing her fingers over the writing in the stone "look Jariko it says something in some weird writing can you read it?" she said, looking behind her. Jariko just stood there in silence watching her to make sure she's safe. As Aiko traced her fingers across the stone she bumped into something that she was sure wasn't there before. Ceriran walks forward, showing that it was him Aiko bumped into, She takes a few steps back and he says "lost are we?". Aiko wasn't sure how to respond so she slid her hand off the stone and to her chest to grab the pendant, until she remembered Kieran took it for her. "uhh...we...we found this room when i fell over" she stuttered, feeling uneasy.

" Fell? so what about the simple combination" he says intent on figuring out why she is down here, in this room.

" I tripped over something and Jariko figured out that they move to the centre. it was by accident, i wanted to explore the mansion" she said, being honest "why are you down here Kieran?"  i thought he would be with his twin. i wonder if he knows what Garret uses this room for She thought.

Ceririran looks around and looks back at Aiko " he is upstarts, working on a book right now, I am here.. fixing something" he says sounding slightly eerie.

This is his twin oops she slightly giggles at her own mistake "fixing something?" Aiko was now slightly confused, what would he be fixing in Garrets room.

Ceririan takes a few step forward coming within reaching distance to the portal, " I am making a stronger ward around this room, to stop intruders, not like yourself, more to protect the house from intruders from the portal". Why is she down here with her little pet, I can't remember what they are called, I should look into it more he thinks.
