(Lacey)
Relief washed over me. I glanced back at the creeps in front of us, afraid that if I looked back, so would they. What was his plan? Shoot them or threaten them? Did he even have a weapon to threaten them with. A gunshot. Ah, that was his plan. The first guy, Mark, went down.
"Move and you're next,"
I smirked at the remaining men.
"You really think that I'm threatened by you? There's three of us and one of you." Johnny laughed.
Another gunshot. There were only two men now.
"Just let the girls go, and I won't shoot."
"Oh c'mon let's kill this guy," said Johnny.
They turned around looking for their guns.
"Looking for these?" Hazel's dad asked holding up the two weapons.
Two more gun shots. The men were dead.
"Dad," Hazel said starting to call his name. But a wave of tears flooded her eyes and she couldn't speak. He untied us and brought us to his arms. I started crying, too.
"Th-th-thank you," I said in between sobs. I dont know how long we stood there holding onto him but after a while Hazel's dad interrupted us.
"Let's go back downstairs," he said. "We'll clean up in the morning."We rushed downstairs to let the others know we were safe.
"Hey mom, look who we ran i--"
Hazel stopped short when she took in the scene around her. My heart fell back into my stomach.
Two more men were in the annex living room. One of them was Colby. He held a knife to Hazel's mother's neck. The other one had her brother.
"Hey babe," he grinned.
