Chapter 1: Wishes Come True?

Today, at school, I was going down the hallway. I remember passing Cameron Dawson's locker. The whole time, I was thinking, "what if I could be in his family." I was daydreaming in the hallway, until I bumped into some guy. "Watch out nerd," he said.

If you know me, you would know that I am one of my schools many nerds. Cameron Dawson is the most popular boy in school. You cannot go 10 minutes at this school without hearing about him or his achievements.

Sometimes, I feel like I want to say hi to him. But usually, there is at least 35 people crowded around him, which makes it impossible to. I will admit, I had a tiny crush on him. It was something about his brown hair and blue eyes that I liked about him. I don't know why I haven't given up hope yet, because I know that he won't be mine.

After school, I saw my mom in the parking lot as usual. She picked me up, and we started driving to the other side of town. I was so confused. We drove into a nice subdivision. We just lived in a 3 bedroom house in the middle of town.

As we pulled up to the house, my mom told me and my little sister Avery about her new boyfriend, Matt. My mom and dad divorced when I was 5, which was about 8 years ago. Then, she said that Matt had two kids, Cameron and Noah. I figured that Cameron was a girl, so I got so excited.

We walked in the house, and I saw CAMERON DAWSON from school, along with his dad and brother. I thought that it was too good to be true. My mom was dating Cameron Dawson's dad. I was thinking to myself, "I can be popular at school now!"

Then, we took turns introducing ourselves. When it was Cameron's turn, he said that he has saw me at school before. The most popular guy at school notices a little nerd like me. I know I have 4 classes with him, but he's too busy talking to the other people.

After all of the introducing ourselves, Matt asked if we all wanted something to eat. Cameron started talking to me about all the good places to eat. Everything he said sounded really good, but in the end, my mom said that we can go to O'Charley's.

When we were in the car, I still couldn't get over how Cameron is going to be my future step-brother. I can brag to my friends now. Right in the middle of my fantasy, Cameron asked if we could get to know each other.

I figured out that Cameron really likes baseball and football. I play softball in the summer, but that's the only sport that I play. We also like the same TV shows and the same music. We asked each other the most random questions until we got to O'Charley's.

In one day, the most popular boy in school went from this kid I never talked to to now practically being my brother. I was looking forward to living with this kid, and getting to be a part of his family. Well, I had to wait for his dad to propose to my mom.
