Chapter 3: Earning Bragging Rights

I couldn't get over what happened last night. Cameron Dawson is my step-brother. The only part that I was looking forward to today is that I can brag about it to my friends.

Then, Matt came to pick me and Avery up to take us to school. On the way, Matt said that we are moving into his house on Friday until we find a bigger house. Oh my gosh. I got to live in the same house with Cameron. All of this felt like a fantasy life, but this was 100% real.

We got to school, and we each went our separate ways. Then, I saw my friend Ava. She is a nerd like me. "Did you just get out of a car with the Cameron Dawson, the most popular boy at school?!" she said.

"Yeah," I said, "Last night was the best night ever. I found out that my mom and Cameron's dad are dating. I'm moving in with him on Friday,"

"I am so jealous of you," Ava said. Then, we walked into the school together. I felt like a million bucks. "Can I say hi to Cameron," Ava said. Then, I saw Cameron at his locker, by himself surprisingly. I went over to introduce him to Ava. As soon as she said hi, all of these popular kids came over. "Watch out nerds," he said, "Cameron isn't your friend,"

"Umm, I have the right to talk to my step-brother, FAmily before FRiends, so back off," I said. "Daang Ethan, get roasted," I heard somebody say from down the hall. Then I turned to Cameron, "Are you mad at me," I said. "Mad?" Cameron said, "I just realized that Ethan is a fake friend. If they don't like you being my step-sister, then they don't deserve to be my friend,"

Then, Cameron asked if we could walk to 1st Period together to see what people have to say about it. I got my things, and then I realized that Ava was still there. "Do you wanna walk with us?" I asked. She said yes, so the three of us walked down the hall together. We got plenty of stares, but it was worth it. I was walking down the hall with Cameron.

I put my things on my desk, which was on the opposite side of the room from Cameron. He waved at me telling me to go over there. "When you move in on Friday, could we possibly have a pool party," he said, "I already talked to my dad about it. He said that I needed to ask you."

"Your saying that I can be the co-host of a Cameron Dawson party?!" I said, "Well if so, then I'm down, as long as I can invite some friends." Then the bell rang and I hurried back to my seat. Cameron nodded his head in agreement. This party was going to be the perfect mix. Popular kids and nerds. I couldn't wait to see how it all goes down.

*Another update. Chapter 4 will be out today, but Chapter 5 will be out sometime this week.
