Joyce was getting home late that night, leaving Hopper in charge of dinner for the five of them. He happened to be a good chef, believe it or not.
He was too busy crushing tomatoes, and boiling pasta to notice his wife getting home from work.
"Hey there Mr. chef, what are we eating tonight?" She smiled, wrapping her arms around his midsection.
"Spaghetti and meatballs, as per Will's request." He chuckled. It had become well known in the household, that spaghetti and meatballs was Will's favorite meal.
"Need any help?" She asked, beginning to wash her hands.
"No no Joy, I got it. You should go get washed up. Relax until dinner" he told her. She smiled. Reflecting on her life, she had never gotten to 'relax' by any means. Going from an abusive relationship, to single mother, and then having her son be literally possessed, she was always busy with something. Before going off to her bathroom to shower and clean off, she layed a kiss on her husband's cheek. For the first time in a long time, she felt safe, and happy.

After showering and changing clothes, she walked into her dining room, greeted by a fantastic scent, and her family.
"I'm so sorry, did I keep everybody waiting?" She asked, beginning to get flustered. A simple smile and word came from El's mouth.
"No." Joyce chuckled, before sitting down to join her lovely new family for dinner.
"Hop, this is delicious!" Joyce exclaimed, greeted by nods of agreement from El and the boys.
"I told you guys I could cook!" He smirked.
After a delicious dinner, family game night, and chocolate ice cream (as requested by El) the couple settled into bed. Joyce fell asleep happily snuggled against her husband's chest, content and happy with her new life.
