Chapter 5: Excited

El woke up excited. Not only would she get to leave the cabin, but she would be part of a real family for the first time. Hopper had gently shook her awake, giving her ten minutes to get dressed. It took her three. Hopper was packing up the truck with the last of their boxes, when she came into the kitchen, and luckily thought to leave a toasted eggo on the table for her. She sat down in her usual chair to start eating, when Hopper came in.
"Ready to go kiddo?"
"Eggo." She replied.
"You can eat it in the truck, let's go." He said, with a hint of a smile. She put on her heavy coat, stomach fluttering with excitement, and trekked through he snow to the warm truck. Yeah drive to the Byers' wasn't long, but it was long enough to think about how things would be from now on.

The first day had gone by smoothly, but the kids were excited for dinner. They all know about Hoppers proposal plan, and couldn't wait. Dinner was casserole with tomato sauce. El had never eaten anything red before, but she was intrigued. It smelled good, so she decided to eat it. Will had taught her how to play monopoly, so they had decided to play after dinner. Jonathan had also promised to teach her how to use the cassette player to listen to music. While all these thoughts were going through her head, she almost missed Hopper starting to speak.
"Joyce, I'm gonna keep it short. I love you, and I always have now I feel is a good time to ask you this," he got down on one knee "Joyce Byers, will you marry me?" Luckily Jonathan had his camera out to capture Joyce's reaction.
"Yes! Yes! Of course oh Hop yes!" She jumped into hi arms. The three kids were beaming proudly, Jonathan may have even been crying a bit. Eleven was so excited. Excited for her father, excited to have Joyce as a mother, just excited and happy to be alive in that moment.
