Malia's POV
After having lunch with my friends I came straight home. I threw my bag on the couch and my keys on the coffee table.
"Malia could you come in here please" I heard my mom yell as I entered the kitchen as my family was standing around the island
"What's going on" I ask
"This came for you" my brother says handing me a letter I opened it up and started reading to myself.
"Oh my god I-I got in I got in to Duke University"
"What" they all yell clapping, my brother picked me up giving me a huge hug
"Ive been wanting to play volleyball here since I was a little girl"
"Well what else does it say"
"It says that I get to visit the campus for a month and see what it's like to be a college student getting to live in a dorm and getting to practice everyday with the volleyball team" I explain
"Congrats Mal you deserve this I'm so proud of you"
"Thanks mom" but than I thought again
"Stiles"
"What about stiles" Dad asks
"He doesn't know I applied to Duke he thinks I applied to Georgetown"
"Why's that" dad asks
"Cause she promised him that she would get into Georgetown so they can stay together while being in the same country...... right? Jason says
"You promised him and it wouldn't be fair" he exclaims
"Well isn't he going to Howard University" mom asks
"Yes but he hasn't gotten his acceptance letter yet and it's exactly where Georgetown is they're both in Washington D.C"
"Well than he'll just have to understand that its not just about him"
"Mom you don't understand we've been together for 2 years I can't just throw that away"
"And you can't just throw this away you've been waiting for so long I mean I know that you love him but you also love volleyball don't you"
"Yes more than anything it's just.... I promised him"
"Well some promises are meant to be broken I mean this about your life and what you wanna do in the future which is.....? My mom asks looking for a response
"playing volleyball" I answered
"Exactly"
"I guess but just please don't mention anything I'll tell him when I'm ready cause he hasn't gotten his letter yet and don't mention anything to Mr stilinski either you too Jason don't be telling people at school news travels fast got it"
"Okay my lips are sealed but what are you gonna do if you do leave for Duke you'll basically moving away" he says
"I don't know I'll figure it out"
|| next day ||
I was sitting in class when I got an email, they rejected my application for Georgetown. I walked out of class to see stiles on his phone as well.
"What's wrong" I ask
"Howard just rejected me"
"So did Georgetown" I tell him
"What that's impossible" he says
"Its fine"
"Well look on the bright side at least we can stay here in beacon hills and still be together" he exclaims leaning into a hug
I didn't say anything cause how am I suppose to tell my boyfriend that I might be moving to a college I've been accepted to that's not close to him. Instead I didn't say anything.
"Yeah um I want to talk..."
"Hey can I steal you away real" she asks me
"Uh sure why not"
"Talk later" stiles says
"Yeah"
I walked with Lydia to the other side of the lockers with Sadie and Alison as she had this huge smile on her
"Guess who just got accepted to MIT"
"Oh my gosh congrats Lyds"
"What about you Malia" they ask me
"I didn't get into Georgetown" I tell them as they grasp
"It's okay though we could uh celebrate tonight for you at my place my parents are going out and my brother is staying with some friends" I tell them
"Sounds greats" they saying agreeing to come over
I kept thinking tonight should be the night that I tell stiles I'm moving away for a month but I don't know how he's going to react. Guess we'll find out
