Prologue

Setting: Konoha, leaf village
I walked around the village dropping off a basket of roses to Ichiraku ramens place. I usually go around giving everyone a basket of flowers, they're pretty. I hummed walking back to my house to greet my grandpa. He must have woken up already.

I looked around watching people stare at me like I was strange. Anybody can be happy, it's common sense! My grandpa said that people stare at me because they're jealous of my joy. I like to agree with my grandpa most of the time, when I tell some of the elders they say my grandpa is just old and crazy like all of them. They usually laugh it off, I still don't understand it. Old people confuse me!

I finally reached the house passing the time in my train of thoughts. I can't wait to go to the academy and hopefully get my leaf village headband! I just... I can't perform ninjutsu... Everytime I try, my shadow clone looks like it's vomiting out green goo and it's hair falls off like a wig...

Setting: Konomi's home she shares with grandfather.

I unlocked the door happily stepping inside. Empty...
I walked around shutting the door behind me. I pouted guessing my Grandpa was reading so much he fell asleep.

"Grandpa! I'm home!" I shouted waiting for a response. I walked into the living seeing my grandpa sitting on the rocking chair chuckling with a closed eye smile.

"Welcome home, Konomi." Grandpa greeted.

"Don't scare me like that, Grandpa! I was worried!" I giggled.

"Ah... I'm old, Konomi. I can't hear that well anymore." Grandpa teased. I looked at him like he was a big fat liar.

"Mhm... Anyways.... Tomorrow I'm dropping 2 more baskets to our neighbor, you know, the blonde kid! And.. What's her face..? Ino, she needed a new stock of tulips. That old man always needs to get his wife flowers. But i wanna go training instead!" I giggled informing him. Grandpa sighed and stared at me.

"No time for your Grandpa, hm? Youngsters nowadays!" Grandpa chuckled aloud.

"I earned some money for groceries! Any preference for dinner?" I asked.

"Hmm... Grandpa's brain isn't working! You want a sandwich Konomi?" Grandpa asked.

"I'm supposed to be helping you now Grandpa!! I owe you my life!" I giggled sheepishly.

"Ahhh, but you're still my granddaughter! You know, you're stubborn like your father I say. You keep wanting to do things alone. You need to sometimes depend on someone in your life, Konomi. That's why I want 8 great-grand babies!" Grandpa chuckled.

"8?!" I screamed blushing.

"Oh sorry for screaming!" I corrected.

"And you got your mothers manners.... I swear, you can be nice one moment then stubborn the next!" Grandpa laughed.

"Har, har. I'm gonna go to the flower field to pick up some new ones! Maybe the blonde kid will like the tulips? No... Roses..?! W-WHAT ABOUT K-KIBA?!" I asked myself aloud blushing.

"I thought you said 2 people! Oooo~ Who is this Kiba?" Grandpa asked standing up on his cane.

"N-Nothing to concern yourself on, Grandpa! H-He's just a classmate!! He's really cute though..and cool... Grandpa...What are you doing?" I asked staring at him as he looked like he was listening very closely as if gossip.

"Nothing, sweetheart. Well you do you, remember, if you ever do 'it.' Use protection." Grandpa commented laughing after. I blushed looking at Grandpa curiously. Grandpa chuckled and walked behind be playing with my curly hair. 'Protection..' I thought.

"You look like your mother when she was your age." Grandpa sighed. I frowned as Grandpa stopped.

"Okay...I'm gonna go train instead!" I exclaimed happily.

"You go girl!" Grandpa cheered chuckling.

"Love you, Grandpa! Bye!" I said. I walked to the front door and exited closing the door behind me as I walked to the training field.

Setting: Training field.

"So lets see... Shadow Clone Jutsu!" I yelled doing the handsigns. I closed my eyes shut keeping my hand in the position letting my chakra flow send into the clone. I opened my eyes and looked to the right of me. Nothing.. I looked to the left and saw something, but not what I wanted to see.

The clone didn't have my hair, it's skin color was green instead and it's eyeballs were.. not.. green...

I frowned and un-did the jutsu. It's okay! I got Taijutsu! I went to a log and started kicking its sides until I finally put a dent in it. I panted staring at the log. NOOOO!! IT BROKE!!

I sobbed mentally falling to my knees as if my grandmother died. I stared at the log trying to put it back together. To no success. I ignored it for the time  being and decide to do push-up.

I counted mentally in my head to how many I did.

1...2...3...4...5...6..7...8...9...10...11..12...13 I reached until 43 until I noticed something. Someone's watching me... I looked around and saw a cat sitting down. I giggled and sat down taking a break. I grabbed the log I broke and carved the wood with a kunai making a bowl. I grabbed my water bottle and poured some water inside the bowl passing it to the cat. The cat meowed then drank happily.

I looked around bored pulling out my book to read for a while. I laid down on the grass reading. Grandpa said that if I ever needed to read something he'd be more than happy to take me to the bookstore. I got lost in thought and dropped the book on my face falling asleep.

I woke up 40 minutes later with the cat laying on my stomach sleeping and a book on my left. I sighed and pushed the cat off carefully. I looked up at the clouds passing by, lost in thought.

I miss Grandma... I sat up and grabbed my book, I put it in my pouch and headed off to Grandpa's house.
