"You went to see your father?" Dimitri asked in bewilderment, "Why?"
"I had no choice, a man would have lost his job," Charlotte said as she sipped on the wine that Dimitri gave her. He retrieved his own glass and came to sit next to her on the couch, sliding his arm around her and pulling her towards him. Charlotte happily settled in the nook of his arm, sighing in content.
"And how did it go?" He asked.
"I suppose it went as well as it could have gone," Charlotte said, "I'm not ready to forgive him for what he did, but I miss my mother and brother, it would be great to go and see her," Charlotte mused.
"So why don't you?"
"I don't know, it's not like I'm going home, it never felt like home,"
"Well, how about, I come with you?" Dimitri suggested. Charlotte stilled in surprise and moved to look him in the eye.
"You would do that for me?" She asked in surprise, amusement glinted in Dimitri's eyes.
"Charlotte, I would do anything for you, as long as you're happy and it isn't illegal," He said.
"I thought you said anything," She said with a chuckle, "Thank you Dimitri, it would mean a lot to me," She said.
"Okay, so it's sorted then," He said, "When do we go up?"
"I'll give my mum a call," Charlotte said, a certain excitement settling over her. She leaned in and gave Dimitri a kiss, but before she could pull away, he tugged her closer.
"Okay, I really have to go now," Charlotte said with a chuckle, Dimitri groaned.
"Can't you just stay, pretty please?" He begged.
"Fine," Charlotte relented, but truly it was because she didn't really want to leave, especially if he was going to kiss her like he just did.
"That can be arranged," Dimitri said, with a hearty chuckle.
"What?"
"I can kiss you like that again," He winked and pulled her into another lip-locking embrace.
Eventually Dimitri lead her to his room and handed her some of his clothes, so that she could change.
"So, I spoke to my mom," Charlotte said as she leaned casually up against the door to Dimitri's room. He was sitting up right, dark hair ruffled and reading glasses perched on his noise as he typed away on his laptop. When she appeared, he stopped typing, moved his glasses lower so he could give her his full attention. A look of appreciation crossed his face.
"What?" Charlotte asked.
"I was just thinking, I could do this every day of my life, waking up with you next me, standing in my doorway, wearing my clothes...not wearing any clothes," Dimitri said with a playful waggle of his eyebrows. Charlotte was not amused and gave him a blank look, Dimitri just laughed and then patted the bed next to him. Charlotte sighed and climbed up next to him.
"You should stop it, you're making it difficult," Charlotte whispered as she curled up next to him.
"How so?"
"You are making it very difficult for me to not fall in love with you," He stilled, next to her.
"Well then, I really had no chance against you," Dimitri said and kissed the top of her head, they stayed like that for a few minutes, both content with the sense of peacefulness. Dimitri was the first to break the silence.
"What did she say?"
"Hmm?"
"Your mom?" Dimitri prodded.
"Oh, she said on long weekend we could come up, she would love to have us," She said.
"Okay, when do you want to leave?" Dimitri asked.
"I was thinking maybe Friday, I'll have to book flights..."
"Or we could use my companies plane?" Dimitri suggested. Charlotte looked at him in surprise.
"You have a plane?"
"Yes, for the business, it comes in useful," He explained.
"I love you." Charlotte blurted out. Dimitri grinned.
"Why didn't I mention the plane earlier?" He asked himself.
"No, I love you, not because of the plane, but because of everything you have done for me and everything you're willing to do, I don't deserve you," Charlotte said.
"Charlotte, I love you too," Dimitri said earnestly, cupping her face in his hands and kissing her gently, "I have since the minute I first met you."
"Shall we get some breakfast?" Dimitri asked, as she moved to get her clothes from the previous evening.
"Yeah, just going to nip back to my apartment to shower and get some clean clothes," Charlotte said.
"Okay, I'll meet you at your door in 30?" Dimitri questioned.
"Works for me!" Charlotte nodded and quickly gave Dimitri a peck on the lips before heading out of his apartment. As she walked into her apartment, she couldn't help but feel like this was the happiest she had ever felt and she prayed that nothing ever took that feeling away.

Well, it's short and incredibly sappy. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your families/friends, I know I did! And now it's back to work and uni and ugh... why did I do this to myself, honestly?
Anyways hope you enjoyed it! Writing this chapter just made me realise how utterly single I am.
Don't forget to vote and comment! I love reading your feedback on the story!
