Her phone was ringing, she blindly reached for it and answered with a groggy, "Hello?"
"Charlotte." It was Derek's voice, he sounded awake and she could just picture him in a pristine grey suit, tailored to his form.
"Derek."
"We need to talk, would you be willing to?" Charlotte contemplated it.
"Very well, meet me here at six tonight." Charlotte said.
"I was hoping it would be more private." Derek said, sounding disappointed.
"Betty and Tyler will not be here." She lied.
"Okay, I'll see you then."
"Is that all?" Charlotte asked.
"Just, thank you for giving me a chance to explain myself," Derek said softly.
"Everyone deserves to tell their side of the story," Charlotte said.
It was Charlotte's off day, so she lazed around in bed for a bit, before getting up to shower and make breakfast. Betsy was already in the kitchen, making coffee when she walked in.
"Where's Tyler?"
"Not here."
"I can see that," Charlotte said.
"He had to leave early this morning," Betsy said softly.
"You had a fight?" Charlotte asked gently.
"Something like that, small disagreement really."
"Well I hope you figure it out." Charlotte said and grabbed a granola bar from the pantry.
"Me too."
"I'm going to do a grocery run, anything you need?" Charlotte asked as she looked at the depleted pantry.
"Chocolate, Ben and Jerry's and a box of tissues."
"I'm sure it's not as bad as it seems to be now." Charlotte said, turning to her friend, Betty just looked at her.
"That's genuinely what I need on a daily basis; I'll go and get the money for it." She said and disappeared to her room. Charlotte sighed and then went back to making a list of what they needed.
The grocery store was bustling, it seemed as though everyone had decided to do there grocery shopping today, she quickly went through her list and methodically ticked off everything as she went through it and checked out.
"Charlotte!" She turned to see Dimitri behind her.
"Oh hey?" She said as he reached her.
"Mind if I walk you back?"
"I was actually going to get a taxi." Charlotte said, disappointment clouded his handsome features.
"Oh, alright then,"
"You can always share it with me." Charlotte added. He perked up and nodded his head in agreement.
They caught a taxi together and gave the driver the address.
"Look, I'm sorry if this whole thing upset you and I realise that I was out of line and I just wanted to apologise." Dimitri said.
"It's fine." Charlotte sighed.
"Except it doesn't feel like it."
"I know, but I've got other things to worry about at the moment." Charlotte said.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I will be, look, thank you for telling me, but you did overstep your boundaries and that must never happen again." Charlotte said.
