When he released, Ben's eyes widened. "Evie?!"

"Ben?! What are you doing here?!"

"Looking for Mal. Obviously." Ben replied. "I thought you were Mal."

"HOW COULD YOU THINK I WAS MAL?! I HAVE BLUE HAIR-" Evie begins to yell.

"And Mal's blanket over your shoulders." Ben added. Evie sighed and rested her elbow on the desk.

"What are we going to do, Ben? If Mal finds out, she'll burn us alive." Evie looked up at the young king.

Ben shrugged. "What if she doesn't find out?"

"Ben, you know I tell her everything. I can't even keep food from that girlfriend of yours." Evie responded.

"Please, Evie. Your friendship and my relationship is on the line." Ben pleaded.

Evie groaned. "Fine. But I better be getting paid more after this."

"Don't push your luck." Ben laughed, as he headed for the door.

"Worth a try." Evie smirked, before getting back to her homework.

I would just like to give a shoutout to CarVie16 for helping me start this story. This story wouldn't exist if it wasn't for his help. Thanks!

Evie had to hand in some paperwork to Ben, so as she and Carlos walked down the hall, Carlos knew something was up. Evie was usually the talkative, bubbly type of girl, but today, she was the opposite. Evie was looking down and the girl didn't even have a smile on her face.

"Evie? You okay?" Carlos asked, worried about his friend...well, crush. Evie and Carlos had been best friends, well before Evie and Mal became best friends. Evie was the one to give his first pillow.

Sorry about the spoiler for the first descendants novel, Isle of the Lost!

"Yeah... I'm fine." Evie looked up at Carlos and gave him a weak smile as she opened the door the Ben's office. Carlos even noticed Ben wasn't even doing his paperwork, just staring at it and tapping his pen on his desk.

Carlos softly closed the door before he turned to his friends. "Okay, what is going on with you two? You're acting different."

Evie and Ben exchanged looks. "We kissed."

"What?!" Carlos exclaimed.

"Well, technically, Ben kissed me." Evie explained.

"It wasn't supposed to happen! I thought she was Mal!" Ben exclaimed himself.

"Really, dude? She has beautiful blue hair and gorgeous brown eyes. How could mistake her for Mal?!" Carlos pointed out.

"She had Mal's blanket over her shoulders." Ben replied.

"Well, can't argue with that." Carlos shrugged.

They didn't realise that in the doorway stood a very mad and upset Mal.

"I can't believe you two!" She cried.

"Mal?!" They all exclaimed.

"M, please, it wasn't suppo-" Evie started, walking over to Mal.

Mal threw her arm up. "No, Evie. I can't believe you'd go behind my back and kiss my boyfriend. I can't believe he let you." A devastated Mal ran out the door, in tears.

Evie watched, hurt, as her best friend ran down the hall. What hurt was that Mal didn't give her a chance to explain.

"Evie, it's okay." Carlos said, standing next to her.

"How can it be Carlos?!" Evie cried. "I've lost my best friend forever and I can't do anything about it."

Tears stroked Evie's cheeks, Carlos desperately wanting to wipe them away. Carlos sighed, "okay, Evie, come with me to my dorm. Hopefully Jay's in there. While we're there, Ben can sort everything out with Mal. Got that, Ben?"

The young king nodded. "Every word."

Oh no, guys! Mal and Evie's friendship is broken and both girls are upset. Hopefully Jay is in his dorm. Hopefully Carlos and Ben will be able to calm both girls. Guys, this is not good.
