MYSTERIOUS PERSON

I watched River and Carlene from the other side of the river. River fell for it. He actually thought it was Bill that raped and killed the little Jessie. I laughed quietly to myself. He killed an innocent man and thrown Robert down the waterfall. I have hated River since day one. When I saw him on the plane I knew I wanted to kill him. I knew I had to. He thinks he's all special since he became leader and stole Carlene's heart. Well I'm gonna take her soul. I'll cut her heart out of her chest. River was broken when Jessie was killed but he will be beyond repair when I kill his precious Carlene. That's why you never trust anybody so you don't get hurt. I smiled evilly and back farther into the forest blending in with the darkness.

              RIVER

I felt like we were being watched. My skin had goosebumps. I just  had a feeling that we were. Did someone follow us? I do not doubt it. We had a pretty dramatic exit someone was bound to follow to see what's going on. I hugged Carlene tightly. It would have been a week being on this island. It's been two days since we ate the fish and I know they are starving again. I'm not going back there though. I killed Bill and I know the exact place where I killed him. Carlene and I spent the whole day just getting wounds patched up. We talked a little bit while doing it but not much. The next day we tried to have a little fun but we didn't and then it was dark and time to go to sleep. I slept as far away as possible from the waterfall. Afraid that I was gonna roll off and die in the water. I didn't wan that to happen. Carlene slept a few feet away from me. I frowned. I had a feeling that there was still a part of her that was scared of me. I...I literally don't know what came over me. Didn't I say I would end him if he touched Jessie? Yes I did.

"Carlene come here," I ordered. I saw her freeze.

"Carlene," I said again. Carlene rolled over to face me slowly. She scooted over towards me slowly. I pulled her in closely.

"You are still afraid," I stated knowing it was the truth. She nodded. I sighed and kissed her lips. I leaned away and looked into Carlene's eyes.

"I know what I did was wrong. At least I can look back and feel remorse if I didn't feel anything that's when you should be afraid. Believe me I feel very guilty. I love you, Carlene. I would never hurt you again. I know I have hurt you and I promise I won't do it again. I will always love you..even in death," I said softly.

"I love you too....even in death," she said looking back into my eyes. I smiled and tried to ligghten the mood. I gasped when a realization hit me.

"My uncle! I was supposed to visit him. He'll know that something happened! They are probably looking for us!" I said happily. Carlene's face lit up.

"Really? That means that there is a chance for us to get off the island," she said happily. I grinned.

"We have to make a fire to help them find us. We need to get off this island pronto," I said fast. Carlene nodded. I stood up.

"We're not going to make it tonight. What's the point building a fire at night when you can't see the smoke? We can start early on finding wood though and finding ways to build a fire," I said. Carlene nodded and started finding woods in the forest. By morning we found a bunch of wood. I didn't pay no attention to the sunrise I really didn't care. It was time to get off this island. I picked up two black rocks and rubbed them together trying to make sparks fly. I moved closer to the wood pile.

"Here's some dead leaves," Carlene said laying them down by the wood pile. Try to get the leaves on fire. I rubbbed and rubbed and no sparks just when I was about to give up sparks flew on the dead leaves and created a miniture fire. I grinned.

"Fire! We have fire!" I yelled happily. I don't think I was ever this excited to see fire. I wanted to throw a party. I moved the leaves on the wood and soon the wood was on fire. I watched the smoke rise to the sky. Soon maybe...we will be off this island.
