"Tyler!" a voice interrupted. I jolt and jump away from Tyler when I hear that voice intrude on what may have been a special moment for us. But no, it's okay. I'm not bitter at all. Yup nope!

After I built a bridge and got over my bitterness, I noticed who had shouted Tyler's name. It was one of his football buddies. Oh great... I can feel my cheeks heating up and know that my face must look like a tomato now.

"Whoops, I'm sorry. Am I interrupting anything?" his buddy asked with a smirk on his face.

Trying to act casual, Tyler denies it, "No. Your fine. What's up?"

"Well... We were all going to do some beer pong. You in man?" He asked Tyler.

Looking from his buddy to me, he kind of stutters, "Umm.... Well... I was kind of—"

Before he can finish, I cut him off. "No go ahead, Tyler. Go have fun with your friends," I state. I could really tell that he really wanted to do it. I want Tyler to want to spend time with me. I don't want him to feel like he has to be around me. Turning around, I walk away from Tyler. Maybe I didn't mean as much to him as I thought I did. Am I hurt? No, I can't be. We were never in love. Never had a thing together or anything.

Smiling back at me, he responds, "Okay, I'll see you around!"

Sprinting into my room, I crash onto my bed with a thud. My head bangs right onto my pillow and tears begin to leak all over it's cover. Why am I crying? There's no reason for shedding tears when we never had a thing together.

Jolting up, I hear a loud knock on my door. Quickly, I wipe the tears off my face. I know my eyes are probably red and splotchy, but unfortunately there's nothing I can do about that now.

"Come in. It's unlocked," I call. The door slowly creaks open and a head appears. Stepping in the room, she shows her whole body. It's Katie.

"Vanessa, you left so early...." Katie began. Suddenly, she realizes that I've been crying and questions with concern, "Vanessa are you okay?! Why have you been crying?" She comes and sits down next to me on my bed while engulfing me in a comforting hug.

Resting my head on her shoulder, the tears start again. I start to babble out, "Well I don't know why I'm so upset, but I was there with Tyler and it was going so well...and then he left me for his friends...Why am I upset? I shouldn't be. We weren't even together."

Katie starts rubbing my back to comfort me even more. Trying to use some words of wisdom, she says, "It's completely understandable. The way you feel I mean. Yeah, you may have never had anything with him, but this is what happens when you care about someone a lot. Don't worry it'll all work out."

Katie stands up on the bed and reaches her hand out for me to grab. Accepting it, she pulls me up and suggests, "Let's go back to my dorm and each some ice cream and watch some Netflix together."

Giving a half smile, I agree, "Okay."

Two Hours Later

My eyes are slipping shut, my body starts to curl up into a ball and eventually sleeps encloses me. Sugar plums dancing in my head, I start having this dream.

"You ready babe?" a voice comes up behind me. Arms wrapping around my body, I smile. Finally, he's all mine. He pecks my neck. Spinning me around, he looks me in the eyes and continues, "Do you know that you're the most beautiful girl in the world?"
