kimjoonie: sure if you want

pjimin00: Okay, hyung! So, where are you from? If you don't mind me asking.

kimjoonie: i live in seoul

pjimin00: Me too! I just moved here about a year ago from Busan.

kimjoonie: do you like living in seoul?

pjimin00: It's a bit different from home, but yes, I do like it! It's been surprisingly easy to adapt and get used to living here.

kimjoonie: that's good
kimjoonie: so have you had any luck on this app
kimjoonie: i just downloaded it the other day
kimjoonie: my friend wouldn't shut up about it

pjimin00: Not really, I suppose.
pjimin00: Then again, I'm usually too nervous to message anyone I'm even remotely interested in.

kimjoonie: so

pjimin00: Wait, hyung! That's not what I meant.
pjimin00: I was afraid to message you as well, but my friend encouraged me.
pjimin00: By "encouraged," I mean he threatened to take my phone and message you for me.

kimjoonie: i mean would that have really been that bad??

pjimin00: Yes.
pjimin00: My friend is practically the king of sexual jokes and innuendos. He would have totally embarrassed me.

kimjoonie: sounds like this one kid i know
kimjoonie: i've never met someone who speaks with such vulgarities before in my life
kimjoonie: but he's funny as hell, so it's all good

pjimin00: I, too, enjoy a dirty joke here and there, but he would have just been downright disgusting.

kimjoonie: hey jimin quick question
kimjoonie: why do you talk and type so proper
kimjoonie: you sound like a professor or something

pjimin00: I've always typed like this.
pjimin00: I'm a big fan of literature and the like, so maybe that's the reason.
pjimin00: Why? Do I sound too stiff or uptight?

kimjoonie: nah it's all good i was just wondering
kimjoonie: it's good to know there are still articulate people out there

pjimin00: Well thank you, hyung.
pjimin00: So you mentioned that you have an artsy side. Care to elaborate?

kimjoonie: it's nothing special really
kimjoonie: i've always liked art and shit like that

pjimin00: Is there anything you especially like?

kimjoonie: i like photography a lot
kimjoonie: and i like looking at paintings and reading

pjimin00: That's neat! I think photography is quite lovely and expressive.

kimjoonie: what about you?

pjimin00: I'm very into reading and writing.
pjimin00: Writing is probably my favorite, though. I want to become an author one day.

kimjoonie: that's pretty cool
kimjoonie: must be nice to have your career planned out like that

pjimi00: Yes, but becoming an author can be a daunting task.

kimjoonie: that's true
kimjoonie: good luck though

kimjoonie: my friend is here and we're going out to the movies

Jimin sighed, closing the app and locking his cell phone. He leaned back onto the couch, his fingers drumming against his leg.

Talking to Namjoon made him slightly nervous. The elder was nice, but he didn't seem too interested in the conversation they shared and that worried Jimin.

If the first person he ever had the guts to message ended up not liking him or becoming annoyed with him, he would have a breakdown and most likely delete the app altogether. He had had the application downloaded onto his phone for almost a year now and he had no luck with it.

Jimin had received several messages from others before and they all seemed interested, but quickly grew distant and dropped him. He usually blamed himself for sounding too eager or for typing the way he does.

He knew that his articulate mannerisms made him appear nerdy or somewhat like an old man, but he couldn't help it. It was just the way he generally spoke and typed.

To kill some time, he unlocked his phone and went through the few social media apps he had, checking notifications and mindlessly scrolling. He grew tired of it pretty quickly and knew that nothing was going to help distract him until Namjoon returned.

chapter question: what do you think of jimin and namjoon's characters/personalities so far?

authors note:
since i have half of this story already prewritten, i've decided to begin posting it.
although (for right now) i will only be updating every two weeks.

it will give me time to finish writing the remaining chapters. if i finish the last half sooner than expected, i'll bump the updates to once every week.

i probably will not remember to post on the same day each week, so updates with be random concerning which day of the week.
