Chapter 22

Zayn's POV

"Thanks. I owe it all to you. I would've never learned how to swim if it weren't for you." I thank her while still hugging her.

I didn't notice when I started to slightly pull away. I was now looking into her eyes and then to her lips. I have no idea what got over me but I slowly started to lean in.

I was going to kiss her.

What the hell am I doing?

Niall. My best friend. My brother. He has a crush on her and I know how much he likes her. And here I am betraying him by trying to kiss Chloe. I know it's the wrong thing to do but I can't stop myself from leaning in.

I can't stop imagining how her soft lips will feel against mine. Will they move in perfect sync? Will they fit together perfectly like a puzzle? Will she even kiss me back?

I just close my eyes immediately and lean in closer. I can feel myself really close to her and as I'm about to kiss her water is splashed in my face.

"Stop playing around Zayn." She says, oblivious to what was about to happen. Did she not notice what I was about to do? Well I did close my eyes immediately so I never had the chance to actually see what she was doing, or if she was even facing me.

"I-I. Yeah that's right I was just messing with you." I scratch my neck nervously. I was really disappointed that I didn't kiss her but I was also very relieved. If Niall ever finds out what I tried to do he will kill me. No worse. He'll never talk to me or trust me ever again.

Crap.

I hope Chloe doesn't mention this to any of the boys because they all have big mouths and they can never keep them shut. But she was oblivious to what was about to happen so maybe I have nothing to worry about.

Wait what if one of the boys woke up and saw what was going?

I'll just have to act like nothing happened, because nothing actually happened so I'm basically not lying. Right?

"I'm starting to get hungry. I'm just going to head back inside and eat breakfast. Wanna join?" Chloe gets out of the pool and wraps a towel around her perfectly fit body. "Zayn?"

"Huh? umm no thanks I think I'll stay here and swim some more." I snap back to reality and answer her. Crap was I staring at her for a long time? I hope she didn't notice.

"Okay then just don't do too much. You're just a beginner and you barely learned how to swim like a few minutes ago. Just be careful." She seems to be thinking about something, then walks inside quickly. She comes back with a store bag.

"What's in the bag?"

"Here, just in case." she winks then tosses the Spider-man/Princess arm floaties, along with the donut shaped rubber ducks one. She laughs going back inside the house.

I chuckle when I hear her still laughing from inside the house.

"What the hell was that?" Louis walked out shortly after Chloe went back inside.

"What was what?"

"That? Don't be stupid, I saw how you were goinig to kiss her! Luckily she didn't even notice, Zayn she's never had her first kiss. Don't forget what Andrea said, she's only had a couple of boyfriends, well more like dates. Niall really likes her and I dont think you want to ruin your friendship with him by stealing the 'girl of his dreams', do you?"

"His what?"

"Niall was talking to Liam about how he finally found the 'girl of his dreams'. He told Liam that he's never seen a girl eat as much as he can or be really good at video games and so on. Mate, Niall is head over heels for this girl and he barely met her."
