*******

                                   Rome

     She was gone.

     Gone. Missing. Disappeared.

The kingdom was in chaos. Everyone was in a frenzy looking for that damned woman like scrambling mad men. Their newly appointed Queen was gone, and so was Kail.

That bastard of a man. It had took me five seconds of searching her bedroom to find out who took her. I smelled her fear and his excitement in nauseating waves as soon as I had walked into the room. It reeked of his scent and the thought of her endangerment nearly sent me over the edge.

How he had got into the guarded room, I had no idea. But I did know one thing, and that was that I was going to kill him very, very slowly. And I was going to enjoy it, too. I always had the urge to slash the damned prince's throat, but now I had a reason to, and no one was going to stop me. If anyone tried, they would go down with him.

I was a relentless forest fire on the path of all destruction.

I also knew she was a firecracker, so I must act quickly. Her temperament could send him over the edge, but it could also help me too. Instilling fear in him may bring his fragile walls down, and I knew she could get him to that point if she truly tried. Scarlett was a weapon of mass destruction, and she didn't quite know it just yet. The power I instilled in her was much more than I had anticipated. A deadly force that could ultimately end me if she wished to.

Making her into Royal Fae was easy, but pouring in all the magic I could without killing myself into her body was difficult. Not to mention the magic of the Elders. They gave her the ultimatum of power, a mound of it. I didn't quite understand why, but challenging Their logic was an immortal's sentence to death, royal or not.

"They're most likely on the way to his kingdom by now, your Majesty. If they make it to shore before you can find her, the Shadow Wall will go up and there will be no hope to get her back." My adviser, Daniel, says while scrolling frantically through maps of the ocean.

That stupid wall. Built a millennia ago, it protects his kingdom from invasion and attempts of war. It was indestructible, made of powerful magic and a spell cast long ago, no one could break it. I didn't care much for it, but now that he took my wife I wanted it stripped of its existence entirely, even if it was impossible. I would find a way somehow.

What was the deal with his fascination anyways? He couldn't have known much about her, unless he somehow got someone to speak up through torture or seduction...

I slam my fists down into the table as my anger begins to take over my body, heat radiating in rolling waves off of my skin like steam. Daniel jumps at the sudden movement and nearly drops the map but quickly grabs it and stands, shifting his glasses back up to the top of his nose. His face begins to redden with his clumsiness.

I wanted to punch the living shit out of someone. Why must this happen in such a crucial time of my developing relationship with Scarlett? She was just getting over what had happened between us and Kail goes and ruins everything like the piece of shit he is.

"Fuck!" I throw the nearest thing sitting around me straight towards the wall, feeling in no way any better when it hits the wall with a thwack and shatters entirely all over the wooden floor. "There's no way to get to her in time, even with my fastest winged warriors at my side."
