Chapter 4

"Tony's P.O.V"

I was trapped with my group on top of a damn rig when out of nowhere someone came to our rescue. At first I couldn't really see them due to the fact that there were swarms of the dead that we called geeks everywhere. I ran out of bullets along with the two others of my group with guns so now we depended on these strangers to keep us alive and I didn't like that. These days I trusted very few even within our own group and depending on someone else to save my ass was not something that I cared too much for. The swarms of geeks slowly thinned and that's when I noticed her. She stood around five foot seven, Long black hair pulled back into a pony tail, Tan from what I could see from here. It was the girl that I had saved from the geek on the highway a few miles back. Ironic I guess that the woman that I saved without her even knowing who I was is now saving me. My thoughts interrupted as I saw a walker moving up behind her.

"Look out behind you!!" I shouted. She swung around gracefully slamming her knife into the geeks skull.

It took about ten more minuets to get the swarms down enough that we were able to start coming down from the rig. I started to walk away without saying anything when the girl came running up to me.

"Hey a thank you would be nice. Oh yea and thank you for what you did." She replied with a shy smile.

"Thanks for what? Oh and I guess thanks for saving our asses." I replied wandering what she had to say thank you for because no one ever saw me on the road way that I knew of.

"Your welcome for your ass. And my sister saw you in the woods that day you saved me. If it wasn't for you id be walker food." she answered with a slight smirk on her face when referring to my ass.

"Guys lets get outta here." I looked around making sure that all of my group was here, and they were.

"Alexis's P.O.V"

Slowly looking from person to person I noted that there were seven people in Tony's group, eight if you counted him. Tony was tall Dark hair and dark complected like he spent countless days in the sun or was part Mexican one. Those eyes though, were dark brown maybe even a little golden. He looked even better in person than my sister described. "shut up. dont even begin to look at him as attractive. There is no time for that." I told myself. The group consisted of three guys Tony included, A little girl and boy that looked to be in their early teens, a young woman early to late twenties maybe and two older women late thirties looked like. They all looked rather worn down but still tough.

"Would you guys like to join us? How many of you are there?" The oldest of the two women asked politely.

"What are you doing Jackie?" Tony asked sounding a little annoyed

"Well the bigger the group we have Tony the better chances of us surviving. And they did save us." she shot back at him

Before he could say anything else I gave my reply "If its OK with chico here. There are four of us. Myself, The names Alexis by the way, My brother Jake here, and my sisters Jade and Cassie are back at our truck. We have a little food and plenty of ammo in the truck.

"The names Tony and I'm not a fuckin Mexican. If you want to come with us then I guess I don't have a choice now that you've been invited, but you better hold your own weight and don't get anyone killed." His attitude had completely changed to the point now that he seemed like an asshole, and I didn't know how I felt about that, but keeping my family alive was the number one priority.

Jackie went on to give out the introductions and ages of their group. Jackie was thirty six, The two kids were Anna and Chris they were fourteen and fifteen and belonged to Michelle who was the other older woman I had noticed, she was thirty four. Three men were of course Tony who was my age, his younger brother Brian Nineteen, and Sidney twenty nine, and the younger girl was Jenni, twenty one.

After the introductions were over Tony asked which way the truck was and I pointed. We all began walking toward the truck when we heard gun shots start ringing out. Me and Jake took off in a full out run and the rest followed, kids toward the back but all the same protected if need be. As we reached the truck the girls had shut themselves in windows down just enough to shoot without shattering them. A group of about five walkers surrounded the truck. I took aim taking down three before my clip was empty. Jake was already empty so we both grabbed our blades taking down one each of the other two. Cassie and Jade climbed out of the truck hugging us both and looking confused at the large group we brought with us.

"We have a problem Alexis." Cassie said tears in her eyes as she walked over holding her arm. I took her had away and immediately teared up. She was bit.

"We can manage, We'll figure out something. Your going to be OK." I couldn't hold the tears back I knew there was nothing we could do, but I didn't want to face that.

"She can't come with us." Tony busted in through the group pointing his gun at her.

"Back the fuck up. She's my sister. There has got to be something we can do."

"There's nothing that can be done and I will not have her come with us and risk her turning on the rest of us. If you want to stay here so be it." That was all he had to say and he turned motioning for the rest of the group to move out but they all stayed planted where they were.

"Tony we can't just leave them here. Even if she is bit she can still be with them until the end and then they will do what they have to. Come on man we didn't have that choice when Maria died. Dont take it away from them." Brian said on a sad note. and Tony just stopped and nodded.
