Harvey

It’s Anna, she’s here, and she’s one of them. Don’t get merciful on her; she’s here to kill you as well. It’s be nice and be killed or be a brute and kill. He’s right, if I play the nice guy here, I won’t live long enough. It’s going to start soon. ”I’ll take on the Blacksmith; you go ahead for the Mage. The two of the combined could clear them out in a couple of minutes. Once they start to move in, we strike” this is the most solid plan I can think of at the moment and we’ll just have to manage on our own.

The first one to move in is the Blacksmith, just as I thought, the cocky one always head on first. I send my shadow catcher to latch onto his. He managed to dodge my talent and it goes for the Mage. Someone on their crew can read minds, good thing we have a back up. If my attempt fails, move on another. I grabbed on the Mage and start chanting spells to attack the Gaia. She’s pretty, but beauty isn’t much help in the games. A circle forms underneath the blond girl, she panics and goes on hysterics “WHY ME?! JUST GO FOR THE MERMAN! PLEASE! NOT ME! I’M TOO-“too late, she combusts into a large ball of fire; her shadow starts to fade and disappear. That’s one out of the crew. Sadly, I don’t play by the rules.

“LUCIA!” the boy with the Merman shouts out his lungs trying to bring back what’s already burnt to ashes. “Die!” he charges for me. Not the brightest idea, but it is worth getting a spear through your neck. A shadow spear struck him down in one throw. I guess the Blacksmith got latch on by my shadow. He was asking for it, charging in without his shadow. Love does bring forth death in so many possible ways. We both have good aces, the Mage with a variety of her spells, and the Blacksmith, with a large arsenal of weapons and armors. The only few left are the Phoenix, the Trickster, and the Broken Angel; Anna.

They’re keeping their distance now, a very wise move. The Phoenix shoots up and spreads her wings, and covers the moon. She’s trying to conceal their presence with darkness. Its pitch black all I can sense are my shadow, and both our hostages. Sense a slight tingly feeling on your neck?  The Trickster, he’s at it again and the darkness just makes it harder for us to avoid his talent. Let me give you a little presentation. My eyes are covered with black cloth and when I tore them apart everything is colored now, my house is still burnt but it’s there, the barn is out back, and I can hear the farm animals. I’m home. Do you want this back? Do you want your old life back? Or do you want to stay down here and be as lonely as you want? It’s your choice. I’m not fooling you Orphan, yes I may be giving you illusions but they can be achieved if you help us win the games. the Blacksmith, the Mage, and the Phoenix are allies, but we, my owner and Anna, have a very different purpose. We’re here to save you

Save me? Why are they doing this? “How do I know I can trust you?” Well, that is a magnificent question. Do you want me to take care of a little predicament? A predicament, is he talking about what the Phoenix is doing? My eyesight breaks like glass again and I can hear the Tricksters laugh. Do not worry Orphan, you can trust me and my owner as well as Anna and Annie. Soshe named it, typical stubborn girl.

The Phoenix still blocks the moon then she starts to fade, slowly, and finally she disappears. The darkness lights up as the moons rays hit the arena. There are only 5 left on the stage, the girl who owned the Phoenix suddenly vanished. I told you I would take care of the predicament, do you trust me now Orphan? “Yes, whatever you’re planning I’m in, just help me get back to the real world. I’ll do anything you say just help me” very well said Orphan. He takes out a knife and slices through the chains that keep me and my shadow bonded to the ground. Can we really trust the Trickster? He might be just using you to get rid of the others while the two of them plot against us. “No, he knows something else. With that in mind, I’ll trust him for the mean time. If he does plan something else, we take over.” As you wish. We both clap and at the same time the owner of the Blacksmith and the Mage explodes from the inside splattering blood around what remains could be left of them.

The crowd silence as their hopes of living dwindles, bad luck choosing what looked like the strongest fighters in the game. Then the shouting began, once in a while a spear shots up in the seats of those who bet on the kid who died, killing them on the spot. No kidding, who would live if you got impaled from your rear to your brain. Here a little girl screams, she must’ve bet on the Mage, poor little girl, then a man, then a group of teenagers. It’s just one after the other. Until only a few of the crowd is left. A fair game, you bet your life on the games. It’s just me, the Trickster, and Anna. “Harvey, you’re alive. You’re really alive” You know him Anna? “Yes, I’ve been looking for him for quite some time now, finally I found you” she’s been looking for me. She walks slowly towards me “Stay there” she still keeps coming “Stop, don’t go any closer” she doesn’t listen. “I SAID STOP!” I stomp and send my shadow latcher, it directly hits her and she stands frozen in place. Well so much for a reunion, Anna wake up. Her shadow walks up to her and touches her left shoulder. Anna wakes up from the trance and smiles again. “How long was I gone?” about a couple of seconds, you’re stupid enough to walk to the Orphan like that. “I don’t mind, he’s my friend.” She starts to walk towards me again, I can’t control her, she’s healed , she’s purified. That’s her talent, purification of shadow, but my shadow isn’t feral. She in front of me now, I was so stuck thinking about her talent of purification that I didn’t notice her presence. “Harvey, it’s alright. I’m here now, I won’t hurt you. I’m here to help you” she spreads her arms and hugs me tightly, she hugged me. She’s warm and she makes me want to go to sleep. “I’m lost, I’m lost for a very very long time, and I didn’t know what to do.” I’m crying, I can feel the tears pouring out of my eyes. “Yes and for that time I’ve been searching for you ever since, I’m very glad to have found you again.” She let’s go and my shadow wavers, he clutches his head and starts to scream. “You’re not the feral one, it’s your shadow. He didn’t devour you, he can’t he’s too weak to take over you.” My shadow stops and suddenly he has a wide grin on his face. So you found out huh? Well, it’s not a lost at all. I have what I’m looking for and that’s all that matters. He laughs then suddenly poofs into a black smoke.

What was that about? More importantly, I don’t have a shadow anymore. I’m all alone again. No kid, you’re not alone. I wasn’t talking, she’s the one with the mind reading abilities. Yeah, but Anna’s here to take care of you so don’t worry. Also, I think you’re big brother might want to talk to you. My big brother? Danny? He’s dead, he died when mom hid me under the floorboards. We’ll see about that. DANTE! Dante? Who’s he? The boy who owns the Trickster walks closer, I think I do remember him. “Hey Harvey, it’s me. Danny”
