         Luck hasn’t been in our side since Lucas joined the team. Dante and Harvey are bonding again but Harvey and his shadow, not so much. Lucas and his shadow are still taking care of the new kids that get drifted off or until they look so hopeless that you really need to help them out. It’s going pretty slow since we’ve been mapping out other kids with the talents that fit our criteria. We’re 3 people short on our team and the Demons are nowhere to be found. The last thing we want is to wake up one day with a large shadow demon in our face waiting to gobble us up. Rumors are spreading that there are less kids now in the area because someone was recruited and was said to be returned to the real world. So many kids have volunteered to be a host for the demons. Sadly, no one returned to tell they didn’t make it to the criteria.

        I got so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t hear Harvey calling on me “ANNA! UNDERWORLD TO ANNA! HEY!”

“WHAT?! I’m thinking here!”

“Thinking of what? Or can I say who?” he grins. I just want to smack away his boyish grin.

“What the hell are you talking about  Harvey?”

“Well.. Dante said you have been busy looking around for Lucas all day. Said he saw you ask some of the new kids if they saw the “Charity guy” who gives out rations” he still grins while he talks, something is up.

“I was looking for him so I can ask him if he has any leads to any of the members he can recruit. That’s the only reason I can be looking for him. If you both are thinking that I more than like him you both are crazy!” I turned back only to find myself blocked by Lucas.

“Hi Anna” he smiles at me and waves at Harvey and Dante. “I’m done with my daily handouts and Michael said I need to rest for a bit, so he insisted he hand out the rations himself if he finds new kids and also ask them if they see a kid with a peculiar trait.”

“Thanks for the help Lucas. You go on ahead to your tent and I’ll give Michael a hand” he nods and goes on towards his tent. He really is a nice guy, someday that’ll get him killed.

         I kept wandering around the outskirts looking for Michael, for a big angelic figure, he sure is hard to find. Some of the kids that I walk pass have already rations for the day. These lot would be back tomorrow so possibly they would have another ration hand out and the day after that and so on. It must be hard on Lucas and Michael doing it every single day to help the new kids survive. “Run!” it came from the alleyway next to the ruins of a bar. A crowd of children run off, really fast, as if something is going to kill them.

Yeah! You better run! I told you it’s one ration for day and that is that! If you want more try to stay alive for another day, and then maybe, you’ll get another ration!

        I can’t believe it. It’s Michael. It’s the first time since I saw him act that way. It’s like another person took over him. I approached cautiously while he has his hand blocking his view then he looks at me with piercing green eyes. His face sharpens and everything about him is dangerous. I take a step back and ready myself in case he charges at me.

“Michael, it’s me, Anna. Don’t you remember me?” He looks straight into my eyes and it’s like he’s looking for something. His eyes grow large and his face softens, then he smiles at me. What just happened?

Anna! Hi, how’re you? I’m just handing out rations to the kids. Is Lucas resting in his tent?

“I’m great? Yeah, I’m great! Thanks for asking Michael. Yeah, Lucas is in his tent. I saw him and searched for you and well, are you by chance all right?” It’s like he doesn’t remember what just happened.

Yes child! I feel very wonderful

He smiles again. Something is very wrong and I need to talk to Lucas.

“I’ll head back again, if you find any leads regarding the criteria head back and report to anyone you can talk to” I wave and walk towards our station.

         Almost near to our station, I saw a commotion at Lucas’ tent. “What’s wrong!?”

“It’s Lucas; he screamed earlier, he said he was burning. Then he went limp” a bystander explained “the Healer tried to wake him up with her talent but he’s still out cold”

“the Healer? Since when did we have a healer here?” I wasn’t informed about a new recruit.

“she’s not a recruit, when Lucas screamed she just showed out of nowhere and conjured her shadow. at first, everyone was against it but Lucas kept screaming so she shooed everyone and stand still till Lucas was wrapped in black bandages. When the bandages were removed he was calm and then went limp.”

“You dimwit I thought something bad happened when he went limp! I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD!” everyone who gathered around Lucas looked back at me and I feel really guilty now for breaking the silence.

“I was panicking and so was everyone else, but now he seems so serene. That girl is a keeper I tell you, we should recruit her”

        That’s not so easy to be done right now, we need all the help, but someone who stands still in a fight isn’t going to be useful if they’re caught dead, and I still need to talk to Lucas about Michael.

“Okay! That’s done, I’m out of here. Can anyone show me how to get out exactly? There’s so much people here. Hi you must be Anna” she speaks so fast I can’t keep up!

“Hi and who might you be?” I sounded so skeptical. She might hate me for that.

“Angelic, and this is my Shadow, the Healer, also known as Anael. I also heard you’re an angel conjurer! the broken angel I might add. That’s so awesome. How did she become broken? Was she broken before? Or after you conjured her?”

“Can you talk a little slower? I can’t keep up that fast, and is he going to be alright? I kinda need to talk to him about something.”

“Nope, I can’t talk any slower since I got used to talking at this rate. Yes, he’s going to be fine. Nope, he still needs his rest so maybe tomorrow when he wakes up then you go talk to him.”

Wow, she answered everything in one go. “So why are you here?”

“Haven’t you heard?” she smiled brightly at me and continued “I’m Chastity”

AU: a little late on the works again. I’m sorry it got delayed since, well, I have not thought of a very valid reason but let me tell you this. Game of Thrones. That happened.
