"I'm bored!" Alexa declares, sitting herself down on the bed.
Lilly takes a sip of her water. "Well what do you want to do? I don't think I can handle any more movies."
"What about a ghost story?" suggests Alexa, eager to scare Lilly.
"A ghost story? I guess...but you go first," Lilly says, mostly because she doesn't have any in mind.
"Well then take a seat for I am about to tell you the story of the headless clown."
"Wait-a headless clown? What about its head?"
Alexa sighs, hesitating on the light switch. "It's head is only seen by its next victim. Normally it leaves it outside the window, to watch you during the night before it kills you." She turns off the switch, grabbing a flashlight before she sits down on the bed. "Anyways back to the story. Once there was this girl who loved freak shows of any kind. One day she went to a circus where she had a great time...until she came back home. That's when she saw it." Alex pauses for dramatic effect, the flashlight wavering underneath her chin.
Lilly rolls her eyes. "And what did she see? Oh wait-let me guess. The clown head?"
"No. At least not yet. She saw red, dripping-" Thump.
"Did you hear that?" Lilly says, eyeing the door.
Alexa glances at it, wondering why Lilly is looking at it oddly. "No...are you trying to scare me or something? Cause it isn't working."
She shakes her head. "No. I just thought I heard something. That's all."
"Well what she saw was red blood lining the staircase. Now she's scared. And that's when the girl sees-" Thunk. Thunk. Sccraattcchh.
"There's something at the window," whispers Lilly, too scared to turn around. Alexa swivels around, facing the window. All she sees are shadows of tree branches. "Oh come on Lilly there's nothing there! Check for yourself!"
Lilly slowly turns around when she sees it. A bloodied head staring back at her. She screams, bursting Alexa's eardrums. Alexa is worried. "Lilly! Calm down! How about we do something else? I didn't mean to scare you this much!"
Crreeaak. Alexa looks as the door slowly opens in on itself. Lilly doesn't move as she sees a bloodied clown suit stumble in, hands outstretched. She's tries to speak- tries to tell Alexa to get out while she can but can't. A red line appears across her throat. Lilly claws at it trying to get some air. Alexa runs to the bathroom for a towel- anything to stop the blood but it's too late. Her head snaps back, white bone jutting out of the skin. And that's when Alexa sees the head.
