This plot is very original as it's the average "girl is shy, but starts to like the literally most perfect boy in school and surprise! surprise! He likes her back, but takes 38 EpIsOdEs for them to realize that"
The shy girl name is Sawako and everyone thinks she a weird loner girl and people constantly spread rumors about her. Then the most popular guy in school (Shota Kazehaya) starts to like her thus trying to befriend her and trying to get her to crack out of her shell. Along the way she makes friends and what not.
Overall I was really sad when I finished this anime as I actually didn't know how much I enjoyed it till it was over. I would totally recommend this show for basically anyone who likes romance. This also was a pretty lighthearted and easy going anime, but there are some "oh shit" moments that really leave you at the end of your seats.
