Remember when you were a child and you used to throw tantrums at times because you didn't want to go to bed at your assigned curfew?
At that age you were already rebelling against your parents because you didn't want to go to bed at an assigned hour, even if back then you didn't know the existence of the world "rebel". So tiny, yet for a moment you felt like it could be you against the world.

That's until your parents said, “lights out!” and with little warning, the lights would go out and you would find yourself suddenly flooded in darkness, making you feel like what you were; so little...

That's the feeling she, no, them, the world, has right now. Only there was no warning and it was whether they wanted it or not!
