so thea, if you cannot tell, was part of the group of survivors jorge and brenda were apart of. before they leave, jorge tells brenda to go and get her since she'll be extremely helpful for their route. which means she wouldn't come in until around the time they all meet up again or you can have her be split up with thomas and brenda so you wouldn't have to end the book so early.
thea is a genius— considering she can figure things out mathematically and fix things mechanicallly. she's one the smartest people from her glade and learned math and all that jazz through books they sent up there and genuinely learned while being in the glade and scorch. also, i envision her wearing this really big goggles on top of her head to help shield her eyes when she's working!
she ended being split up from her group, making her survive on her own, so have her be very tough on occasion. because thea is actually really kind, and genuinely sweet person, but is still very logical and realistic. so she's pretty aware not everything is rainbows and gumdrops.
if you make her have a love interest, make sure it's not out of impulse and is within the snap of your fingers. personally, i would split it into two books, friends in tst and then gradually grow a relationship in a second book— during tdc. but that's just me! this in your hands if you decide to write this plot. but please, don't be cliché about it.
also, you necessarily don't have to follow how the movie went, if you like the books' following better, then be my guest! i'm just starting the books myself so that's why i'm writing in the movies' following.
