Alex sat there speechless at the words he was hearing. 'My father is DEAD. B-but how?' I curled up into a ball with my legs held close to me. 'No it can't be. He said he was coming back....he promised.'
Before you knew it Alex stood up with green fire coming from out of his hands without him noticing it. "NO! YOUR LYING. HE ISNT GONE!! HE IS NEVER GONE!" Alex shouted at the God with such venom.
Alex knew that shouting at the Gods was very very bad. Just a slight ticking off could send you a one way trip to Hades Realm.
Persephone knew that the child was in grief and had no desire to harm him let alone kill him.
Her only reply was, " I'm so so so so sorry Alex. But your father isn't coming back. He's with the Gods now,"she told him comfortably. Alex sniffed and looked up. "W-with the gods? What do you mean?," he asked with a hopeful glance. "It means," Persephone stated, " that he's down with the other demigods and heroes living his life out."
Alex's face instantly fell with doubt. He was never going to see his dad again even if it meant that he could at least get a glimpse into his dad's mind.
"So I'm not gonna be able to see him aren't I?," Alex asked. "Well actually.. you can see him once you know how to communicate with the deceased. I'm sure Hades will be glad to teach you," she smiled warmly at him.
Alex looked confused, wondering what she meant by Hades teaching him. The remembrance of his Grandfather was very blurry, when he came to him as a baby one day and quickly left soon after.
"Sooo, what you are saying is I get to live with you guys or something?," he asked her slowly. Persephone looked astounded. "W-well but of course!," she looked at him. "I'm not letting you go to some children's home well you will mistreated. Hell! Over my dead body!"
Alex gave a small smirk at his aunt. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. 1. His dad is dead 2. He gonna stay with his grandparents and 3. HOW THE HECK DID ALL OF THIS HAPPEN?!
Alex sighed and looked at her with complete sadness and glanced down sagging his shoulders. "Fine I'll come stay with you guys, IF I get to see my father, one last time," he stated.
Persephone looked taken a back for a second. For one thing Hades had no clue of Alex since he was told that Nico was babysitting that day he came to stop by. Also she couldn't promise him that. Hades had the authority anyway.
"Um..Alex..you see, I can't promise you that," she told him nervously. "What do you mean you can't promise me that..." Alex said through clenched teeth with his fist balled up by his sides.
"Well it's just....I don't have legal authority for you to see your dad. Hades does. And you can ask him that yourself ok. Now I don't have much time. I'm not even supposed to be away from the palace. Alex grab my hand," she stated as clearly as can be.
"Why should i?," he said hesitantly. Persephone let out an exasperated sigh. "Because you won't ever get to see your father without proper training with the dead. Now come on.." She said patiently.
Alex knew he had no choice so he took her hand. "Good.." She cooed. In less than a few seconds white light surrounded them, and Alex was freaking out. "No! No! Just calm down. It will be over before you know it," Persephone said quickly. He calmed down a little, just a little and before he knew it they were standing in the great hall of Hades.
"I prefer shadow traveling.." Alex stated.
Persephone whipped her head around so fast he was shocked. "What??" She said bewildered.
