Cassidy's POV

I strain to keep my eyes open. Since I woke up, everything's been blurry.

There was a breathing mask over my face and an iv in my arm.

A wheel was squeaking from the stretcher beneath me. I could make out the shape of hands, gloved hands, pulling the stretcher.

My shallow breathing made my vision swim in and out of focus. The bright lights, passing at even intervals, were blinding.

The nurses hadn't even looked down at me. They were too focused with getting somewhere.

What's happening? Why can't I move or speak? I thought frantically.

Two doors were pushed open in front of me. The nurses rushed me in.

They picked up the sheets below me gently. And put me on some sort of table, I think that's what it is.

A nurse caught my eyes.

"Cassidy, you need to just relax. Take deep breaths for me." She said.

I attempt to turn away from the lights above me. But I can't; a neck brace holds me neck still.

A second nurse replaces the first mask with a second. It smelled like anesthetic.

"Blood pressure and heart rate are dropping." I heard someone say.

I blinked slowly. My eyelids were heavy and I let it all fade away.

"when it comes to love, it's a complete free for all. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. But the point is to live, let die, and move on. So, don't worry; you'll find your soul mate. Your better than this." -- Alex D, the boy who flirted with me for 3 months, who had a girl friend, who lead me on.
