A/N: THE PROLOGUE IS LIKE, A LITTLE SNEAK PEAK OF ANOTHER PART FURTHER IN THE STORY. SO THIS CHAPTER IS LIKE, A FEW YEARS BEFORE THE PROLOGUE.

Every morning is the same: I wake up at five and brush my teeth. I grab my pack of cigarettes from the countertop in the kitchen and head outside. I sit on the recliner in my front yard and peacefully smoke my cigarette. I've done the same thing since I moved in here; it's my morning routine.
Why do I have a recliner in my front yard? Because I can. Liam helped me move it out here. He's a great lad, really. He actually helped me move into this little flat once I left my parents house about a year ago. Closest friend I've got, honestly. Seems like he's always there and willing to help.
The quiet swooshing of the wind filled the air as the smoke from the cigarette filled my lungs. It's such a beautiful morning; such a shame most people miss it just to sleep in. The only people that probably don't miss it are the ones who go jogging early in the morning. Even then they still miss it because they aren't focused on the beauty of nature; they're focused on their breathing, jogging, and what's ahead of them. Occasionally they'll be focused on the music from their ear buds but to me, the sound of the wind and the birds chirping sounds like music. Nature is my music.
"So apparently it is happening," A female voice said quietly and I figured somebody was just about to jog by but I couldn't see them due to the way the bushes were set around the yard. As the voice got closer, the sounds of feet padding against the floor filled my ears. I assume there's more than one person about to jog by because I hear more than two feet.
"Why? Isn't it like, not ri-" The voice was cut off by a scream and then I heard a squeal and something I thought was a slap. I looked up at the sight in front of me and couldn't help but laugh. Two girls stood on the sidewalk both looking at me with the most frightened expressions on their faces.
"You girls alright?" I let out an amused chuckled and the older girl sighed heavily.
"Um, might I ask what the hell are you doing out here? You nearly gave me a heart attack." She put a hand to her chest and let out a heavy breath.
"Well I'd like to think it's quite obvious what I'm doing, yeah?" I moved my arms out around me gesturing to the recliner.
"You're gonna die." The younger girl said and I chuckled as the older one gasped.
"Emelia! You don't just say that to random strangers!"
"But he is! He's smoking a cigarette and I assure you it isn't an every once in a while thing. You can tell he smokes everyday and he's gonna die from it." The girl I'm assuming is Emelia looked me straight in the eyes. "You're gonna die from it. Smoking is bad."
"Emelia." The older girl said sternly and she seemed embarrassed. She looked up at me and said, "I'm sorry."
"It's fine. She's very right, though. Smoking is bad." I chuckled and the older girl laughed nervously.
"Well um, I guess we'll be going now," She gave me a small wave and I smirked.
"Wait!" I called out and they both turned around, the younger girl with a smirk plastered on her face. "What's your name?"
"Ansley." She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and I smiled. I love it when girls do that.
"Well, I'll see you around Ansley." I looked her up and down hoping it wasn't noticeable. She has a great body, especially in those shorts and sports bra. I'm not trying to be a pervert or anything, but she really does have a nice body.
She mumbled an 'Okay' and walked away with Emelia.
"He was definitely checking you out!"
"He was not!"
"Yes he was! Were you even looking at him?"
"Shut up, Emelia! He wasn't checking me-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever."
"Shut up,"
They walked away and that's all I heard as they walked off. Oh they're something else, alright. As soon as the street lights turned off, I knew it was time to go inside and get ready for work. Walking inside, I caught myself thinking of Ansley; I hope running is her daily morning routine. But if it was, I would've seen her before. Maybe she just moved here and started running today. Or she could've changed the times that she runs, if she even does run everyday, anyway. She's pretty damn hot if you ask me. I wouldn't mind seeing her in shorts and a sports bra every morning; that'd be a great way to start off my day.
