Ryker couldn't wrap her head around the fact that she conversed with a demon, and felt herself want to take a long bath and scrub her skin until it was raw. She had the questions swirling through her mind, but was too scared to ask to find out the answer. Ryker suspected that if there were such things as angels, then demons would have to be a part of the package as well, but she just didn't want to have to believe that part, much less deal with it firsthand. She took a few more steps back from the two brooding figures that were vacating in her room. It seems you have forgotten that I was one of you before I fell were the only words circling Ryker's mind at the moment. What did he mean by that? "Wait, so you're telling me that you can be an angel, but become a demon also?" she asked, truly confused by all this new found information. Harry looked up at the ceiling and mentally kicked himself for receiving the human that would ask these kinds of questions while a dangerous demon was in the room with her. He closed his eyes briefly before continuing to let his green orbs make contact with the brown orbs looking back at him. "That's a story for another time, Ry. Travis and I need to have a talk," Harry replied. Travis, who took the form of Liam, smirked to himself and brushed past Harry, standing in front of Ryker. "Would you like to hear my story, dear?" he asked, letting his black wings descend into his back once again. Harry rubbed his face and couldn't believe this was happening. "Yay, my favorite time of the day. Story time with a demon!" he remarked sarcastically, rolling his eyes as he took a seat on Ryker's bed and pulled her down next to him.
The year was 1939 and Travis Porter had just turned eighteen, immediately enlisting for the upcoming war. He had been listening to the radio reports talk about Germany possibly envading Poland. He was ecstatic when he received a letter of acceptance at the end of August, explaining that he had to report to a local campsite that was set up outside of the outskirts of Germany by September 1. Travis was finally getting out of the small house he lived in with his mother, alcoholic father, two younger brothers, and a younger sister. He was finally going to amount to something in this cruel world, and Travis was beyond stoked. Travis knew that going into war wasn't pleasant, and it came with risks and consequences, but he didn't much care about those kinds of things. He packed up what little things he had, and started his journey to the campsite he was assigned to.
The invasion initially started when German soldiers captured an unknown prisoner from one of their concentration camps on the night of August 31, 1939, and dressed him up in a Polish uniform and shot him to act like it was a Polish attack against a German radio station. Travis was apart of that group of soldiers and started to question himself on if this was something he actually wanted to be a part of. He quickly shook the doubting questions from his head and rested for the next morning to approach. At 4:45 on the morning of September 1, German soldiers entered Poland as German aircraft attacked down, destroying most of the Polish air force while it was still on the ground. Poland was too weak for the Germans' attack, not being able to compete with them.
By September 3, World War 2 had begun and Travis was more than ready to battle. He was loading his gun when a French soldier came out from behind a tree and shot him, killing Travis instantly. The soul transportation was quick and Travis found himself in front of golden gates with nothing but peace and serenity surrounding him. He was in Heaven and he thanked his mother for dragging him to church every Sunday morning for him to be there. Travis received his wings and his first guardian angel mission a week later.
The child's name was Henry and he was suffering from a rare heart condition at the age of fourteen. Travis did his job like he was supposed to until he started to form feelings for Henry's sister, Lisa. It was against the code of Heaven to have any relationships with a human, especially with one involved on a guardian angel case. Travis didn't abide by the rules though and became a fallen angel. He roamed Earth in search of Lisa and Henry, but never seen them again. Travis was becoming desperate and begged God to forgive him and give him another chance, in which God did by putting Will in his life. The deal was that if Travis stayed by Will's side and took care of him for six months, then he would receive his wings again and be able to wander through Heaven once again. The first few weeks went by great, and Travis thought he could accomplish this and make God proud. By the third week, Travis started to lose interest in Will and mad at God because Will wasn't getting better with the drug abuse.
Travis neglected Will by the fourth week and stopped showing up to take care of him and show him what was right and give him moral support in his recovery. God banned him from ever stepping foot into Heaven again, but Satan had other plans for Travis. It was a Wednesday afternoon and Travis was sitting in the local pub having a beer when a beautiful brunette walked in. Her eyes scanned the room and found the desolate fallen angel by himself and smirked. She approached him and sat down next to him on the stool. "Why do you look so glum?" the brunette asked. Travis scoffed and took a swig of his beer, feeling the burn slide down his throat as he swallowed. "Why do I look so glum? I don't know, maybe because I can't do my damn job," he hissed. "Travis, what would you say if I told you that I had an important job for you?" she stated with a smug smirk dancing on her lips. Travis furrowed his eyebrows at the fact that she knew his name and stood up. "Who are you and why do you know my name?" he asked. "I'm Victoria," she introduced, "and I'm a demon about to be your saving grace," Victoria said, allowing her eyes to shift fully black for mere seconds.
After the encounter with Victoria, Travis had teamed up with the Devil and had vengence on God with every cruel thing he had done. He wasn't a screw up down in Hell, no he was looked upon and praised and he loved every minute of it. Travis took the form of Liam because Liam was the closest angel to come near God and had God's full trust and sights in mind and he wanted to start chaos, making it Hell on Earth.
Ryker listened intently to the story and shook her head, truly confused on how God could let Travis do this to himself. "Where are Will and Henry now?" she asked, catching Travis off guard by her sudden interest in the two people he had lacked to help. A flash of remorse flooded his features, but he quickly recovered from the emotion and looked at her. "I don't know and I don't care," he stated. Ryker laughed and made eye contact with him. "You may be a demon now, but you were an angel once and I'm pretty sure that those feelings of being an angel didn't just up and disappear after you shifted. God instilled those feelings in you for a reason, Travis and I bet you're dying inside little by little as you destroy and kill. Now where's Will and Henry?" she asked again. Travis swallowed thickly as he felt his armor start to chip with the built up emotions he had been clinging to. "I killed them," he replied.
(I'm sorry for the lack of motivation to update, but here it is! The flashback does contain some true events that I looked up, but the name Travis Porter is made up and if there was one, then it was accidental. I hope you enjoy and feedback is appreciated!:) -Justyce)
