There was a time

76 5 5

There was a time
I use to look up at the sky
In a happy home
I was queen with a golden throne

But those days are gone
Memories on the wall
I hear the songs
From places we would go

Some days
It's hard to see
If I was a fool
Or you a thief

A maze I was wonderin'
For one in a million
Now you're a torn page
From my stage

Everything, I gave, was gone:
My love
My trust
My hope
My time

I thought, you broke, the lock
Instead, you made it rust
The scar
I can't reverse

What, you did to me

The more it heals
The worse it hurts
The more I feel
The darkness comes, to feed

How to get so close to
Someone so distant
Someone so constant
In my conscious

All I ever wanted was
Him to be here with me
Try to act unbothered
But I end up, hurting more

Now everything I gave, is gone:
My love
My trust
My hope
My time

A new locked cage
A new wage to unlock
A new ticking clock
A new Dreamgirl

Awaiting her day
To may it her way
Into a new world
