"Well my boys already made some great friends." Father looked over my new friends as he decided whether to let me go with them or not. I watched him shaking nervously. It was really busy today and Dad might not let me go with them because of it.
"So can he come with us Mr. Tweak?" Token gazed at my father with a straight but kind of kind look. "Well heck. Why not." Father shrugged as he gazed over us.
"Now run along I've got work to do."
We quickly got out of there. "We got you out of torture!" Clyde looked at me with a bright smile. "Thanks guys." I sighed looking back at the café. "Dude we're gonna have lots of fun!" Token looked at me guessing from my face expression that I was sad.
"I'm just a little nervous... This is my first time going.. somewhere with, friends." I told them. "If your scared you can always go back. Your not to far from your little.. café." The kid with the blue jacket didn't bother to look at me himself, just told me while gazing straight ahead.
"Craig!" Clyde and Token yelled and whipped their head around at their friend. I looked at the kid who seemed to not like me. His name was Craig?
Craig....
Craig..
Craig!
I quickly rubbed my face in my hands trying to make the red go away. How could I think such horrible thinks about him earlier. That wasn't a nice thing to think. Maybe that's why he speaks rudely about me now. Because he somehow knows that I thought he was just an " attention whore."
"You okay?" Token asked me making me turn towards the group again. "Yeah." I told them not having an excuse for my weird little turn and face rub. "You sure? You face is really really red!" Clyde looked at me and smiled.
I put my hands onto my face looking at Clyde, "I don't know..." I said feeling my face get hot. I didn't know what to say or why my face was red or felt so hot. I gazed around for a moment looking for something to change the conversation with.
"Oh um.. Where's Jimmy?" I asked and we finally began to walk to Token's house again. "Oh, He has to go see a Chiropractor on a normal basis because of his legs and he gets a lot of pain in his arms and stuff." Token explained to me as we crossed the street. "Isn't it called a physical therapist or something?" Clyde asked loudly. Token shrugged and gazed forward having nothing else to talk about.
Finally we reached Token's gigantic house. I stared at it in amazement as Token put in the code for his gate. "I mean, I knew house's could get big but is this necessary??" I gasped aloud not caring who heard as I looked at the long yard and then the house.
"Try saying that to his parents ten times fast." Clyde passed me and said with a sneaky smile. Token opened the gate and then everyone followed him inside along with myself. I followed the three more experienced kids as they walked through the grass.
We suddenly passed a row of gnomes. "Agh!" I screamed jumping forward and crashing into Craig. I quickly got up and panicked. "Oh fuck!! I'm so sorry Craig!" My face got pale and I started to twitch and shake. I made my hands grab each other so that way I didn't grab my hair and rip it out.
"What the hell is wrong with you." Craig got up from the grass and whipped off his pants. "Are you two alright?" Clyde and Token turned back and looked at us two. "Yeah. I don't know about mister twitch over here." Craig grumbled but then looked at me who was still just freaking out and twitching madly.
"Dude are okay. I didn't startle you did I?" He asked me looking concerned. "Y-Yea-ah...." I said and added more silently, "I-I'm just r-r-really sc-scared of gn-gn-gnomes....."
I look up at Craig seeing him gaze back and then look at me with a cracky smile. I felt my face grow hot again seeing him laugh a little. "I-I know it's s-s-stup-pid." I put my hands over my eyes and bent my back, groaning.
Craig began to laugh. He grabbed my hand and removed them from my face. "No!" I laughed and kept laughing. I looked up at his face. He didn't really seem to be laughing at me. I have never seen him so happy before. I felt my face getting less pale and I began to shake less. I stood up straight and gazed at the boy who held my wrist in his, surprisingly soft hands.
"What's so funny?" I asked him already calmed by his happiness. "It's just! Haha! I've never meant someone so afraid of gnomes! I didn't expect you to be so interesting!" Craig told me still full of laughter and happiness. I felt my eyes widen and brighten a little as I put a small smile onto my face.
Craig let go of my wrists still smiling so wide that his teeth showed and his was still giving out small chuckles. "You sure your fine?" Craig asked me. "Yeah. Much better now." I said realizing how calm I had gotten while Craig laughed. I wasn't even shaking a little.
"Let's just go inside." I said wanting to be inside as soon as possible. I looked back at the gnomes seeing them just stare forward at the other side of the yard. Seeing them not move an inch.
"K." Craig turned his gaze away towards the house. "Let's get inside so you can stop suffering." Craig said. I jumped forward towards him and looked at Token and Clyde feeling a little embarrassed again.
We went inside and I gazed around gasping wide. "It looks even better in here!" I said gazing at the open and expensive looking place. "It's not that great..." Token scratched the back of his head as he looked at his friends. I looked at the large bookshelf on the side of the wall near the entrance of what looked like the kitchen. "That's because you live here you rich boy." Clyde said running towards the stairs and then climbing up.
Craig followed leaving me and Token still downstairs. I looked around and then glanced at Token who looked down at an expensive wooden tiles on the ground. "Is something wrong Token?" I asked looking at the kid and how upset he was.
Token lifted his head and looked at me. "Oh yeah. Of course." He told me and then left walking upstairs leaving him just looking up at him with confusion.
