Just a little warning, I'm going to pull some fake history outta my ass for the purpose of the story. So if you really like things to be accurate, I would skip this one. Just a suggestion.

You laughed long and loud. There was no. way. Legolas had done that. You tugged on his arm, which was wrapped around you.

"Did you really?" You asked through tears of laughter. A small blush heated his cheeks. You had never seen him blush before, even when he asked you out a year ago.

The fellowship was crowded around a small fire, laughing with you. Gimli roared, holding his stomach.

"Yes. It was mortifying," Legolas said. He had just finished telling the funniest story you had ever heard him tell. Of course, it might have been because he was a little drunk. Apparently, when he was younger and secluded, he had met a woman who practically threw herself at him. He had no idea what was going on until she very brazenly explained to him what she wanted. At that point, he had "made a noise like a dying goat and booked it out of there".

You laughed so hard you snorted a little, and covered your mouth in amused horror. Legolas pulled you closer to his chest from where you were sitting between his legs. He lightly kissed the top of your head and wrapped his other huge arm around your waist.

"Don't laugh at me!" He whined playfully. You laughed even harder.

"I'm...sorry...but it's hilarious. I'm just imagining little, innocent Legolas..." You dissolved into more laughter. He frowned down at you, but couldn't stop the smile twitching at the corner of his lips. Gimli came to his rescue,

"Let us tell stories of battle glories past!" Gimli said grandly. "This one time..." he started.

You zoned out, not really liking stories of battle. You settled back in Legolas's arms. You were so lucky to have him. You had had a crush on him for so long, then one day he just kissed  you. Out of the blue. You sighed happily, playing with the ends of his soft hair that brushed your shoulders. He gave you a small squeeze even as he listened intently. It was late, and you started to doze a little. Your throwing knife bit into your hip. You were one of the only elves that knew how to use them well.

You jerked awake when Legolas started speaking.

"Oh, yes. The battle of Amarilya. Fine battle, it was," he said.

"When was that?" You asked. You had no news of that particular one in your memory.

"It was when the elves were still divided," He said. You remembered that time. It was awful, division among the ranks of the elves. Eventually they had split into two colonies, the North and West. You hadn't wanted to take a side, but your father had gone to the West. You had loved him, so you followed him. He was dead now, killed long ago. There were many battles between the two sides of elves. Thankfully, they were reunited now. Legolas continued talking.

"I was on the North side with my mother," He said. You started a little. You hadn't know, not that it mattered now. The past would stay dead.

"There was this one battle where the West invaded North territory. It was awful, killing people that I used to know. But the King of the North had ordered it, so I did it. It was epic, though. I fought my way to their leader with nothing but a pair of hunting daggers," he continued. A cold feeling settled in the pit of your stomach. No. It couldn't be true. There was no way.

"I got to him and killed him with one swipe," Legolas said. His voice wasn't filled with pride, but the weight of the loss of his fellow elf.

"What...what was his name? The leader?" You managed to get out. Legolas looked down at you with concern on his face.
