Chapter 5- Numb

Chris POV

I walked through the small corridors of the ship. Pipes and cables made up the side walls, the only thing between me and the cold sea. I arrived at my block, RRF and my room 777. The bed was tiny and the cupboard at the side barely could barely fit my bag. I took out the photo if Rob and Nai and stuck it to the ceiling above me so they were looking at me when I lay down. I smiled as I looked into Robyn's hazel green eyes

Mic: Brown?

Chris: Yes Sir

I stood and saluted

Mic: Here are your posts, this Rota must be strictly followed

Chris: Yes Sir

Me and Mic couldn't exactly act like the  friends we were whilst on duty. He had a nickname of Lieutenant Tyga to save us saying his last name. I unfolded the rota

Robyn POV

I walked away from the ship with Nai in my arms. She looked over my shoulder, as if she was looking for her daddy

Rob: Daddy is gonna be back soon...We can count down the days yeah?

I didn't have the money for the bus back so I walked through the alleys, being sure to keep Naomi close to my chest. I turned down a small road and saw a silhouette of two people. As I walked closer I could see the man had his arm up against the wall, and a woman. I stepped closer

Rob: Aubrey?

He shot away from the woman...it wasn't Mel

Aub: Robyn uh hey what are you doing here?

Rob: Why isn't that woman Mel

Aub: You didn't answer-

Rob: You didn't answer mine!

The woman slowly moved away from the wall

Aub: We broke up....

Rob: You sure about that?

He looked down

Rob: Ugh you know what she is gonna see when I tell her about this

He looked up and grabbed my arm as I tries to walk away

Aub: Why are you walking down here on your own

Rob: Never you mind, let go of me!

Aub: Lemme drive you

He gestured toward his Bentley at the end of the road. I stood a inch away from his face and gritted my teeth

Rob: No

I walked away as quickly as possible. As soon as I made it to our block, Nai started crying

Rob: Shhhhhh were back now

I quickly knocked on Mels door. She wasn't in.

Rob: Okay Naomi let's go feed you then

*1 hour later*

I set Naomi down in her cot and sat on the floor by her.

Rob: Daddy's not here to sing for you so your gonna have to put up with me instead okay?

She pit her fingers through the bars of the cot. I held them softly

Rob: When the sunshine we'll shine together, told you I'll be here forever said I would always be your friend took an oath ima stick it out till the end

She began closing her eyes. Her fingers slipped away from mine

Rob: You can stand under my umbrella Ella eh eh eh

I kissed her head before sitting in the couch. I held the cushion close to my chest and closed my eyes. I imagined it was Chris I was holding. I opened my eyes again yo the empty room. It, it felt like I couldn't live without him. I picked up the notepad off the sideboard and began writing

*1 hour later*

Rob: I want you to stay oooooo

I'd spent a whole hour writing the song...Chris would be proud huh. I wasn't allowed to used him letters for a week, then I could send and send which is what I was definitely gonna do. I checked Naomi one last time before getting into bed

Chris POV

I kept checking and checking my watch. I was at the night watch post, only for another 2 minutes now. It was a big contrast to California's weather, -1 degrees Celsius up here

?: Okay you can go

I turned around to see a light skinned woman, I couldn't see her face

Chris: Uh okay thanks

I made my way down the deck, I turned around and saw the woman watching me...

Mic: Ahhhh Christopher

Chris: Michael

Mic: Good day?

Chris: Cold, we haven't done anything yet have we really

He laughed

Mic: Tomorrow my friend

Chris: What?

He leaned closer to me

Mic: We get to Russia and it all begins

I swallowed and lay back in my bed to see Naomi and Rob
