Chapter Nine

We all watched as my mom walked away from the group. I don't know if it was from Luke making her mad, or being embarrassed at how the scene unfolded in front of everyone. Knowing my mom, it was probably a little bit of bath actually.

I turned to Luke, "Thank you so much, Luke, you didn't need to do that for me, but I appreciate it all the same." I gave him a hug and returned to where Logan was standing.

"I'm sorry for how Lorelei is reacting to this. Logan, Rory, this is all great news for everyone involved. I'm glad you've found your way back to one another, and i'm happy for both of you about becoming parents. And thank you Logan for the invitation to be here for the weekend. It was very much appreciated. I am happy for you as well that Rory did finally say yes, and I am still standing by my blessings I gave you 2 weeks ago when you called and asked." I turned to look at Luke, and then Logan.

"How did you get Luke's phone number? I didn't even know you had it. He's only had a cell phone for a few short months. Not at all long enough for you to get it." he smiled at me, and then looked to Luke.

"I have my ways, Ace. I'll never tell." He turned to look at everyone behind us. "He called me, and asked for the number to the diner, Love."  Of course he did. And of course I wouldn't even think about that, but it shows how another way about how much he cares for me, that he'd go through all that trouble, in fact, Luke's phone number for the diner, isn't even listed as Luke's, it's listed as his dad's hardware store, after all these years, Luke never had the heart to change it. Just like the phone number to grandpa's study at the home in Hartford, it was never changed, due to respectfulness.

"Well, now that, that is taken care of, why don't we finish off our weekend?"

"I've got to get back to Australia, to my parents. Apparently they're having issues with some of the family business, and i'm on the next flight back." MY favorite Aussie said.

"I was only here for a few hours, I've got to get back to the office, actually. I'm on the flight with Finn, mother." From Colin.

"I was only actually planning on staying until I found out what would happen between the two of you, and to gift you something, Rory." I turned to look at my grandmother, and in her hand was a very thick manilla envelope with my name on it. But instead it said Rory and Logan Huntzberger, and not Rory Gilmore.

"What is this grandma?" I kept staring at the envelope, having no idea what it was.

"This is the deed to the house, and everything in it. It's your's if you want it. I took it off the market, the day Logan called me and asked me for my help with this weekend. It was always your grandfather's and I's dream to give you this house, and right now is the perfect time as any. Logan has already said yes, it's up to you darling. If you do, all the paperwork is taken care of, if not the paperwork is taken care of, to where if you don't want it, then you can sell it and collect the money that you get from it." I had tears in my eyes as she finished.

"Grandma, I love it. I couldn't have asked for anything better than this! The only thing I would ask of you, is if we could bring grandpa's desk back here from Nantucket, and put it in its rightful place, back in grandpa's study. In honor of grandpa."

"Of course, Rory. You have no idea how happy that would have made you, you carrying it with you, and keeping it in its rightful spot. Your grandfather was very proud of you, and happy to be your grandfather. And I, Rory am very happy to be your grandmother. Now when this little one gets here, I'll be happy to be this one's great grandmother, I couldn't ask for anything better than this right now." Grandma had tears in her eyes.

"Well, I guess since everyone else pretty much has to go, we may as well load up to, and head back home to Hartford."

"Well, if it's ok with everyone I'd prefer to stay here for just a little while longer if you don't mind hun," everyone turned to look to see whos voice that was, and it was the one person I'd forgotten about with the whole mess with Lorelei and my argument. It was none other than Finn's boyfriend Benjamin. "I don't mind hun, and i'll send the jet back to you as soon as you're ready to come home, if that's good for you." He nodded.

As we all boarded the plane, my dad is hugging me from behind, "Rory, I love you, and I'm so proud of what you have overcome with and without your mom and I, and even Luke. You couldn't make me anymore proud to call you my daughter." He had tears in his eyes, as he was talking to me.

I still had no idea where we even were. What part of the world or anything, I remember relaxing in Logan's lap, and the next thing I know we had landed, and Logan was waking me up. "Wake up, sleepy head, we're in New York City. Time for the drive home. Did you drive your car, or did Finn bring you in his."

"He drove my car. It's parked over there." I pointed towards where I remembered my car being parked at being sleepy, he grabbed a hold of me, picked me up and carried me to the car, while the flight attendant grabbed out bags and followed us. He placed me in the car, unlocked the trunk to put the bags in and then climbed into the driver seat, as we made our way home to Hartford.

As we pulled into our driveway, Logan whispered "Oh fuck." I looked at him, and he was death gripping my stirring wheel, and had a strained look on his face. I looked to see what he was staring at. It was Mitchum and Shira.
