Chapter 15

The Last Time on The Last Time:

"Well, Jess. As you know theres definitely a reason I called you hear this morning, and there was definitely something big I wanted to talk to you about, so sit back, relax, enjoy your food, and I'll explain, then you can ask any questions you'd like." He nodded for me to continue, so I explained everything to him, with the help from mom, Luke, and Logan, about each of the different places. When we were finished we sat there waiting silently for Jess to start saying whatever was on his mind.

"I actually have no questions, except one or two, and the first is when would you need to be in London, and when would you need to have me here by?"

I turned to look at Logan, "Well, Jess, my father needs me in London, no later than 2 weeks from now to take over the head office, there so he can come back here. He's retiring, and i'm taking over. We'll be there 6 months to a year, and will probably be moved back, Luke and Lorelai won't be there longer than 6-7 months since Lorelai wants to be here for her chemotherapy treatments, but she'll have the baby in London, as will Rory of course." He turned to me, grabbed my hand and gave it a little squeeze.

"Jess, that means, I or we would like you here no later than the Friday before we have to be there, to kinda get you used to the place, if you could be here next weekend though, and we can leave earlier that would even be better for everyone involved." He looked at everyone in turn, before he spoke. "Rory, just let me know when you are wanting to leave for sure, Ill be here 3-5 days before you guys leave, if that's what it takes. I know you don't want to lose this house, hell even if it's a mansion, it is beautiful, and its the one place, I know you feel more at home in than you do at Stars Hollow..." everyone was interrupted by a phone ringing, everyone went to grab their phones to look, turns out it was Logan's.

"This is Logan, how can I help you?" Since neither of us could hear the other person, since Logan keeps his phone volume so low. "Yes, sir. We'll be there," he looked at me, giving him a questioning look, he ended the call. "Well, change of plans everyone."

I looked at him. "Logan?"

"Ace, you can stay here for however long you would like, but dad needs me in London, no later than Monday, and it's Friday now, so we have to leave or I should say I have to leave no later than tomorrow evening, so that way I am rested up by the time work rolls around on Monday."

I looked at him, then turned to look at mom, Luke, and Jess. "Jess? Mom? Luke?"

Jess was the first one to speak out of everyone. "Rory, don't worry about it. I can make a call have my stuff sent to me here, I can stay now if you need me here. The house is in good hands, you should know this by now."

"Rory, Logan, your mom and I only have to make a phone call and at least go to the house and get clothes, and we can be ready to go. That wouldn't be a problem at all. So consider things done there as well. So it's all up to you, Rory. Do you want to leave with your fiance, or do you want to wait and stay here for a few days?"

Everyone was now looking at me. It was my decision. I turned to look at everyone. Logan, we'd been apart for so long, I don't think I could bare being away from him for any length of time. Mom, and Luke. Mom has stage 2 breast cancer now, and we would need to find her a doctor asap. I couldn't leave her or Luke behind. Jess. My ex boyfriend, but also my best friend as well, that has grown into even more over time, but I pushed those feelings behind as best as I could. "Let's get this show on the road then guys. Logan, call your dad back, let him know that we are all going, and you'll be in the office come Monday morning." I smiled at him, went to Jess, gave him a hug, and as Logan walked into the other room to call Mitchum back, I said, "Jess, thanks so much for doing this for me, you have no idea what it means to me..." And with that I was cut off by Jess' lips smashed up against mine, and I was even kissing him back, I couldn't hear nothing, everything was tuned out, I pulled back seen Jess smiling at me, and nothing but fireworks, I finally turned around to look at Luke and mom, thinking how happy I was that Logan hadn't seen that exchange.
