My mother was officially getting married on Saturday,May 15, at 4 pm in the Plaza hotel Ball room.
By 3:30,i was ready, pacing around the foyer of my penthouse,my feet already aching in my 5 inch strappy heels, while Adam sat casually at the 3rd to bottom step of the staircase, playing a game on his phone.
While i was trying, once again, not to curse the world for making someone so rude,so handsome like Adam was, the elevator doors opened and Alexis showed up.
She had a look of determination on her face but i could tell she was trying her hardest not to drool over Adam.I couldn't blame her.Adam looked spiffier than James Bond in his suit.
When she was trying to not look like she would do anything to jump his bones, she turned to me and said,"You look beautiful,Serena."
"You look beautiful,Serena",Adam mimicked her in a high pitch, girly voice.
Although it was totally uncalled for, i was trying not to laugh, but Alexis's jaw dropped like she couldn't believe someone so hot, could be so annoying, and i said rudely,"no one was talking to you."
Adam laughed, pleased that he was getting to me,"oh,it's going to be a joy living with you."
I almost believed that.
"How do i look?"my mom sang out from the top of the staircase,as she stood there looking elegant in a creme colored Oscar de La Renta one strap dress, creme heels and her hair in an up do with diamond earings.
"Very nice."Adam said politely.
Kiss ass.
"very beautiful."i said, having a sense of deja vu since thats what i've always said to my mom on her last past 4 wedding days.
"Gorgeous!",Alexis said dramatically,smiling up,"beautiful,like a million dollars!"
My mom rolled her eyes and blushed,"oh Alexis, you're too kind."
"we should get going."Adam said, grabbing my mom's hand like the gentleman he pretended to be,"its already 4:05."
"Oh,i'm so nervous!",my mom exclaimed as we went into the elevator. And she really DID look nervous.
you would think that for a woman who was on her 6th marriage, she would be used to this.
Adam andI ignored eachother the car ride there. And on our way,my mom asked us to please walk down the aisle with out arms entwined.
"NO!",we both exclaimed, when she told us.It was bad enough i was sitting next to him,now she expected me to touch him
Been there, done that, and it did not end good.
"Pleaaaase?"she continued begging as we stepped out the car and she handed me my tiny bouquet.
Adam and i looked at eachother, but groaned in defeat.
So there,we were, walking down the aisle, taking a step with each beat of the orchestral wedding song,Adam's grip tight around my arm.
"ow" i whispered, but maintaned that fake happy smile on my face to fool the guest that i wasn't in pain from my arm losing blood circulation.
"Aww,am i hurting the little princess?',he whispered back, also keeping that fake smile.
I slammed my heel into his foot and heard him whince as tried to keep that smile.
I smiled pleased as he said,"you're going to pay for that."
