"I can't believe you don't know how to tie a tie after sixteen years living in a pureblood family"
I huffed and stood still as Draco tied my tie, "why bother learning when you have other people who are more than willing to do if for me?" I responded, half jokingly. I was too busy trying too look anywhere but Draco's eyes and lips which were right in front of my own but the blonde was too focused on my tie to notice.
It was rather distracting actually, especially as Jupiters warning rang clearly in my mind. A constant cycle of 'you need to move on' that made me want to rip my hair out, I needed to fill the silence so I don't have to listen to it anymore.
"Draco... when you confessed earlier I didn't get the chance to do the same so-"
"You already did" Draco cut me off as he fixed the tie which was already done up neatly by now and he seemed to just be using it as an excuse to stay close "I had to carry you to your room at the engagement party because you were drunk and crying and you told me everything"
My eyes widened a little bit "wait... everything?"
The blonde laughed and nodded "yup, including snogging Theo to get my attention and the fact that Hercules set up our mistletoe incident in the fourth year... speaking of which I have to thank him for that".
In that moment I could swear my face was beet red, I could remember both of those incidents clear as day, especially the mistletoe one which I guess now would be appropriate to explain.
'The Mistletoe Incident' as we referred to it as happened the night of the Yule Ball wherever Draco ended up with Pansy as his date and I ended up going with a girl from Beauxabons who in my opinion was rather beautiful but we were both interested in different people. It was rather late and I was walking back to the dorms with Theo, Draco and Blaize. Draco and I were the first through through the door and got caught under the mistletoe where Hercules insisted that we follow tradition and kiss, at the time I considered it awkward because we weren't friends anymore but Draco stated that we couldn't break tradition and ended up kissing me. It wasn't anything grand just a short soft kiss before he trudged up to the boy's dorm a lot calmer than one would anticipate.
"So I'm guessing you started liking me around that time?" I asked curiously, my gold and chocolate eyes observing his expressions though they didn't give me much insight as to what was going on in his mind.
Draco shook his head "actually I started liking you around third year, but I acted like a dumbass to get your attention. I guess calling people Mud-" he stopped when he saw me cringe "... the M-word isn't the best way to impress your crush huh?".
"Not at all" I sighed "I started liking you around the beginning of fourth year, I just didn't accept it till after The Mistletoe Incident"
"I know, you told me already... while you were drunk and crying. You also said that I was a good kisser, despite the fact that that wasn't even a proper kiss by my standards"
I raised an eyebrow at him as he stopped messing around with my tie and sat down in the chair by the window looking into the Black Lake. Because it was the boys dormitory though, the shutters were usually closed but today they were open looking out at the creatures and fish in the water. "Well then Malfoy what is a kiss by your standards" I asked.
The silver eyed boy grinned just as we heard footsteps coming up to the dorms "meet me in the Room of Requirement tomorrow and I'll show you".
In that moment I kind of knew things were moving too fast, but considering the fact that Draco and I were all too aware of our own fates and the fate of the wizarding world, time was too precious to waste.
