Chapter Thirteen

Draco and I didn't see each other for a few days, and I was left to assume he had carried on with the mission without me. Sure I saw him from time to time though, sitting at the back of classes with Lyra, sneaking into the dormitory late at night, walking through the corridor's towards the Room of Requirement. It was frustrating.

It didn't take long for someone to catch onto my bad mood. Hercules and Aquarius seemed to notice that I spent more time lingering around them with vacant expressions, and after a fair amount of interrogation I confided everything with them.

"We kind of knew you liked him already, little cousin but I didn't know that all of that happened" Aquarius frowned, sitting beside me on my bunk "do you think he's avoiding you because of Lyra?".

I sighed and ran my fingers through my ginger hair that was currently a mess "perhaps but I feel like the incident with Katie Bell has to do with it as well... they left the loo at the same times and he seemed in such a rush to leave before she was cursed. It's too much of a coincidence".

Hercules shook his head, his dark eyes seemed confused. "Malfoy may be a prat... and a Death Eater but he's not capable of cursing someone like that or killing them" he assured "it has to have something to do with Lyra confronting the two of you. Why don't you try and corner him and get answers?"

I frowned "how would I manage that?"

Aquarius shrugged "it really can't be that hard you have potions with him later today right, be his partner"

"Or drag him into a broom closet like usual" Herc added as a joke earning a smack over the head from my older cousin causing the dark eyed boy to laugh "anyway about your other issue, Slughorn's party don't invite Draco. You can't risk it"

I nodded "so do you think I should ask Pansy then?".

Hercules scoffed nearly falling back as he laughed "oh god no, if she wasn't already pissed over you being Draco's closest friend she's going to be really pissed that your sister's marrying him".

"You should invite Blaise" Aquarius said, playing with his cufflinks "I mean you could've invited Theo but he's got a girlfriend now so Blaise could go with you as a friend".

I frowned for a moment and nodded "okay so corner Draco to talk and invite Blaise to Slughorn's party. Anything else?"

"Yeah don't get caught by your sisters, Jupiter may understand but Lyra will literally kill you and Venus has enough on her plate" Aquarius said slowly

My mind flashed to my youngest sister, "huh, what's going on with Venus?" I asked confused.

"She's conflicted, your parents want to arrange a marriage for her already and she's probably the only one out of the lot of you who doesn't want to marry at all. You don't seem to care about marriage much, Lyra's so desperate for it she'll marry any man your parents throw at her and Jupiter's quite content with taking things at her own pace with Hercules but from what I've heard Venus would rather die than marry" Aquarius said "perhaps we should take her with us at the end of the year. Give her freedom".

I looked at him with wide eyes and Herc hit him with his shoe. "Aquarius she's a kid, we could get her killed if we do that" the darker boy whispered harshly "we can't make her choose between her family and us".

"She'll already have to" Aquarius whispering back, hazel eyes blazing "Pluto, after you do what you have to with Draco and Blaise I want you to come with me to talk to her. No ifs or buts about it".
